U.S. Armed Forces On The Border With Mexico? We Never Left.
Amid threats to close the southern border of the United States, a benign U.S. military deployment along our frontier with Mexico remains a charged political issue. Yet, not only do the U.S. Armed Forces have a long history of serving on that border, they, in fact, never left it. Active U.S. Army installations, such as Fort Bliss near El Paso or Fort Huachuca in southern Arizona, serve as thriving testaments to an armed presence more than 170 years old: There is little new along the Rio Grande or under the Sonoran sun.

The faith needed for sowing seeds
In reflecting on the seasons and the spiritual significance of what I find myself doing in my garden, I have previously talked about the importance of pruning, which Jesus teaches on in John 15. This year I have been much more organised in my gardening, and as a result have invested much more time early on in sowing seeds—and I have realised what an odd and unusual thing this activity is, particularly if you are not used to it.

WATCH: Hackers Fool Tesla's Autopilot, Sending Car Into Oncoming Traffic
Researchers at Keen Labs in China, a well-known cybersecurity research group, released a new report describing how they were able to trick a Tesla Model S self-driving car into entering incoming traffic by simply placing stickers on the road, thereby interfering with the car’s autopilot lane-recognition technology. According to the report, the researchers created a "fake line" by placing three tiny stickers on a road.

‘Pretend You Have a Cold’: Pelosi Tells Biden to Keep His Hands to Himself
The House of Representatives Speaker suggested that former Vice President Joe Biden should learn how to value others’ personal space – yet added that she doesn’t believe the accusations of inappropriate behaviour should “disqualify” his presidential campaign. Nancy Pelosi said during an event in Washington that Democrats and other male politicians should keep their distance during encounters with women and refrain from being too close and touchy-feely.

"Breathtakingly Terrible Idea": Top Democrat Proposes Taxing Unrealized Capital Gains
As if Alexandra Ocasio-Jones infuriating Amazon was not enough for Long Island City, and New Yorkers in general, when the world's biggest online retailer scuttled plans to build its New York-based HQ2 as a result of socialist blowback against arguably the world's most successful (whether one loves or hates him) capitalist, Democrats appear intent on doubling down, and infuriating not just Jeff Bezos, but virtually all Americans who save money and invest their capital. The reason: according to the WSJ, the top Democrat on the Senate’s tax-writing committee has proposed taxing unrealized gains in investment assets every year at the same rates as other income, offering not only an idea that would transform how the U.S. taxes the wealthiest people, but a solid reason for those same people to get the hell out of America. The proposal from Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon is the latest berserker plan from Democratic lawmakers and presidential candidates for boosting taxes on the wealthy to address economic inequality and provide funding for their policy agenda. And while this specific proposal has little chance of becoming law soon - or, one hopes, ever - such ideas could quickly gain momentum if the party succeeds in next year’s elections.
