Mueller report: Trump cleared of conspiring with Russia
US President Donald Trump's campaign did not conspire with Russia during the 2016 election, a summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report says. The allegation clouded the first two years of Mr Trump's presidency and his allies see the report's finding as a boost to his re-election chances.

Will Social Security Be Gone by the Time I Retire?
It is a question I am seeing more and more, and the answers get worse and worse. So let’s take a crack at it. First, “gone” is a strong term when the concept of a “weakened” program would provide a sufficient nightmare for those people who are collecting benefits. Just to speculate, though, what would cause the system to be “gone” entirely? The only thing that can bring Social Security to an end is the voters. They have embraced the program for 80 years, but that is no guarantee that they will in the future.

Desperate patients pay up because they have nowhere else to go—and their distress is deliberate and designed.

Across the country, campaigns are underway to force states or other jurisdictions, such as cities, to raise their minimum wages. The usual aim is a minimum wage of $15. Why $15? As Kendall Fellis of the Service Employees International Union explained, “Ten dollars was too low and $20 was too high, so we landed at $15.” 1. Minimum wages reduce employment; 2. Minimum wage hikes reduce the earnings of low-paid workers; 3. Minimum wage hikes make some low paid workers better off at the expense of others; 4. Minimum wage hikes make young workers less skilled, lowering their future earnings; 5. Minimum wage hikes make products and services more expensive,

The Media Have Done Irreparable Damage To The Country
For the past two years, a large swath of the media engaged in a mass act of self-deception and partisan groupthink. Perhaps it was Watergate envy, or bitterness over Donald Trump’s victory, or antagonism towards Republicans in general—or, most likely, a little bit of all the above. But now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has delivered his report on Russian collusion, it’s clear that political journalists did the bidding of those who wanted to delegitimize and overturn Trump’s election.

A Glimpse of What the Green New Deal Would Cost Taxpayers
The Green New Deal is not just an energy and climate policy: It is a plan to fundamentally transform the economy. A Green New Deal as outlined by Ocasio-Cortez would be fiscally and economically catastrophic for American families and businesses—all for no meaningful climate benefit. The plan is far from new and would introduce a completely new level of cronyism and corporate welfare that would harm Americans all across the country.

Justice Department sides with court ruling ObamaCare invalid
The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday announced that it is siding with a district court ruling that found the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional. The move is an escalation of the Trump administration's legal battle against the health care law. The DOJ previously argued in court that the law's pre-existing condition protections should be struck down. Now, the administration argues the entire law should be invalidated. U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor ruled in December that the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate is unconstitutional and that the rest of law is therefore invalid. The DOJ said Monday that it agrees the decision should stand as the case works its way through the appeals process in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

Attorney General William Barr's inclusion of the phrase “does not exonerate” in his summary on Sunday afternon of the Mueller report has become a much-needed security blanket for liberal journalists. For the past 24 hours, CNN analysts, commentators, correspondents, and hosts have clung to the phrase, repeating it ad nauseam in a vain attempt to reassure themselves that maybe — just maybe — President Trump might still be found guilty of obstruction of justice.

Chris Matthews on Monday's Morning Joe tried to talk an agitated Joe Scarborough down from the ledge. In regard to the finding of no collusion in the Mueller report and no prosecution on obstruction, Scarborough peppered the Hardball host with a series of “what about” questions. Finally, an exasperated Matthews dismissed, “Get yourself as a job as special counsel.... [This investigation] was resolved this weekend politically.” What got Scarborough so worked up? Perhaps it was the casual dismissal and finality of which Matthews talked. He concluded, “So they didn't have him on collusion. That, to me, means there will not be a conviction in the U.S. Senate this year. That's not going to happen.”

Brennan Tries to Rewrite History, Says He's Not Surprised by Lack of Collusion
Former CIA Director and NBC News security analyst John Brennan was on MSNBC's Morning Joe Monday morning to comment on Attorney General William Barr's summary of the Mueller Report that was released on Sunday. Brennan, who has been one of President Trump's most incendiary critics, tried to act as if he has been measured in his outlandish predictions about the Russia investigation all along.
