Clarity on Diversity and Pluralism
Freedom and the free society are once again under direct attack by those who espouse far-greater degrees of government control over people’s lives. Wrapping themselves in the cloak of progressivism, “social justice,” and liberation from oppression and discrimination, they use a lexicon of words that are designed to reflect their view of and desires for the world: diversity, inclusiveness, participatory democracy, pluralism, and peace. But in reality, the only social system able to deliver on these goals is free market liberalism. To understand this, it is necessary to begin with first principles about human beings and the nature and workings of the social world. Social-democratic activists have as their starting premise the idea that society is composed of elementary groups or collectives, with these defining and determining the facts and fate of everyone in society.

Council of Europe’s anti-corruption body GRECO publicly declares the country non-compliant with the CoE anti-corruption standards
Today, the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption, in an unprecedented move, has publicly declared Belarus non-compliant with GRECO’s anti-corruption standards. Since 2012, when GRECO addressed 24 recommendations to Belarus and invited the authorities to authorise the publication of the Evaluation Report, twenty recommendations have remained outstanding; and GRECO repeatedly concluded that the level of compliance with its recommendations was very low and “globally unsatisfactory”. Belarus has never authorised publication of any of the evaluation or compliance reports.

Why Packing the Supreme Court Is a Bad Idea
Brutus, in particular, asserted that the Supreme Court would become a source of massive abuse because courts would be beyond the control of “both the people and the legislature.”

Supreme Court sides with Trump on detention of immigrants
The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled in favor of the Trump administration by deciding federal officials can detain immigrants at any time for possible deportation after they have served their time in the U.S. for other crimes. The 5-4 decision reversed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which said officials have to detain these immigrants immediately or they are exempt from ever being detained.
