NJ Gov. Signs Bizarre 'Rain Tax' Money Grab Into Law
On Feb 13, I reported on the passage by the New Jersey legislature of the so-called “Rain Tax,” a law that allows local municipalities to literally tax property owners for the potential runoff that could be shed from their property and “managed” by those governments. Guess what? Democrat Gov. Phil “RainMan” Murphy just signed it into law.

AOC Blasts Republicans For Calling the Green New Deal ‘Elitist’ – But That’s EXACTLY What It Is
New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lost her mind in Congress Tuesday ranting about her Green New Deal and slamming Republicans for calling her plan "elitist." There's just one problem - that's EXACTLY what it is.

Hello Jerome Powell, We Have Questions
Dear Mr. Powell, In your March 8 speech on Normalization and the Road Ahead, you spoke of diversity, zero-bound interest rate problem, and the Fed's path to normalization. You noted "Makeup strategies are probably the most prominent idea and deserve serious attention," while simultaneously admitting an "uncertain distance between models and reality". With that admission, you raised far more questions that you answered.

Electoral College: Why We Must Decentralize Democracy
Although it was long assumed that the electoral college favored Democrats — and this assumption continued right up to election night 2016 — Democrats in the United States have now decided the electoral college is a bad thing. Thus, we continue to see legislative efforts to do away with the electoral college, accompanied by claims that it's undemocratic. In fact, the electoral college system is neither more nor less democratic than the electoral college system. It's unclear by what standard one can claim winning the presidency through 50 separate state-level elections is "less democratic" than winning one large national election.

ADVICE TO THE CONFUSED
I suppose that most pastors have had the experience of a young parishioner approaching them privately and confiding in them their suspicion or decision that they were gay, bisexual, or transgender. Such confusion is in the air, has the Nihil Obstat of both secular culture and governmental sanction, and also bestows a kind of odd popularity, making the person part of a privileged minority of the nobly oppressed. Adolescence has always been a time of sexual ambiguity and confusion, as hormones go into overdrive and leave the young person with a multitude of conflicting emotions. In previous generations the Church and parents were present to help them sort it all out, and to distinguish the emotional from the physical from the sexual. These twin authorities of Church and parents have been replaced by Big Brother, who is now is watching us carefully. These are interesting times in which to raise children.

Reflecting on ‘Brexit’ from a Christian perspective
With the bizarre events of the last few weeks continuing to unfold, I felt I wanted to write something by way of reflection on everything that has gone on. After all, it might be felt to be odd to have nothing to say from a theological or spiritual point of view on the political and national event that will probably have the most significance in our lifetime.

US 'Very Committed' to Destroying Venezuela Government - Political Analyst
US President Donald Trump has said that Russia has to ‘get out of Venezuela’ as he met with the wife of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido in the White House yesterday. He gave her assurances that he would sort out the political crisis in the Latin American country. This comes as the President Maduro has accused the US of orchestrating another power outage, something which Juan Guaido has said people should take to the streets to protest about. Sputnik has discussed the issue with political analyst George Szamuely.
