Policymakers Need to Know: What Is the True Cost of a Butch Lewis Act Pension Bailout?
What has been proclaimed as a mere $34 billion cure-all to multiemployer pension woes could cost 20 times that—upwards of $638 billion. The CBO’s prescribed scoring method excludes long-term costs and negative incentive effects, and it relies on a faulty accounting method. Policymakers need to know the true cost of taxpayer bailouts for private pensions, including damaging incentives and setting a precedent for pension bailouts.

100 Years of Solzhenitsyn: Lessons on the October Revolution for our time
Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn was born exactly years ago, on December 11, 1918, one year after the October Revolution, in a nation in civil war. In the end of the 20th century, and first decades of the new one, the same mistake that paved the way in the mighty Russian Empire in the end of the 19th century, and first decades of the new one: a rejection of good CONSERVATISM, a "slavery to Progressive quirks." Solzhenitsyn was a prophet for our times.
