Miss Spokane

1912 was the first time Spokane had a promotional symbol and city ambassador, Miss Spokane.  Marguerite Motie represented the city as Miss Spokane in an official capacity from 1912 to 1920.  She continued in an unofficial capacity until Catherine Betts was selected as the second Miss Spokane in 1939.

The address side of the above, with the Miss Spokane symbol.

Official design of Miss Spokane, drawn by Eleanor Gaddis and
approved by the Spokane  Add Club in 1912.  Spokane's official
seal of the time appears on the lower right.  Imprinted along the
bottom is "Gold - Silver - Copper - Lead - Timber - Grain - Fruit."
