Fire Stations




Fire Station Number 1, built and dedicated on First Avenue between Washington and Stevens after the Great Spokane Fire of 1889, was Spokane's first fire station with paid firemen.  It had 25 members, hosrse drawn steam pumpers and an annual budget of $33,000.  The first motorized trucks were purchased in 1911.
