Prep Boys Basketball:

SunDome Shootout

Northwest Christian 73, Seattle Christian 50: Jonathan Morris scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the second quarter and the Crusaders (8-3) built a comfortable first-half lead and cruised past the Warriors at the Yakima SunDome. Nick Kiourkas had 11 points and Cody Kilpatrick added 10 for Northwest Christian.

Naches Valley 57, Lakeside (WA) 51: Cameron Walker made 9 of 14 shots and buried all six of his free throws to finish with 26 points and lead the Rangers past the Eagles (2-8).  Coleton Collins had 18 points and Conner Moffatt added 14 for Lakeside.

Nonleague

Liberty 87, St. John-Endicott 49: Match Burnham scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds – including eight offensive boards – to lead the Lancers (6-4) to a rout of the visiting Eagles (1-8).  Burnham also handed out five assists for Liberty, which held a 53-31 rebounding advantage.  Ryan Thayer had 18 points and Zack Kunkel made all nine of his free-throw attempts and finished with 17 points for the Lancers.


prep Girls Basketball:

Lewiston tournament

Colfax 49, Clarkston 32: Nicole Sheer had 13 points and 11 rebounds as the Bulldogs (9-2) overcame a slow start to beat the Bantams (2-5) in the consolation game in Lewiston. Rachel Robinson and Taylor Larsen added 12 points apiece for Colfax. The Bulldogs shot 17 percent from the floor in the first half, but made 56 percent of their shots in the second half. Amara Huber added six steals for Colfax. Clarkston was led by Brooke Morrow’s nine points.

Chelan tournament

Chelan 53, Lakeside 49 (OT): The Mountain Goats made 7 of 10 free throws in overtime and held on to beat the Eagles (7-3) in Chelan for the tournament title. Lakeside’s Jenna Widman hit a bucket from inside the key with a second left in regulation to force overtime. Courtney Dietrich had 25 points, 13 rebounds and six steals for Chelan. Jocelyn Cook-Cox and Ashley Cook-Cox combined for 25 points for the Eagles.

Brewster tournament

Lake Roosevelt 69, Liberty Bell 24: Danielle Laramie tallied a game-high 24 points and Riley Epperson added 12 as the Raiders dumped the Mountain Lions at Brewster. Keya Fast Horse had seven points and nine assists and Katelynn Schilling added seven points and nine rebounds for Lake Roosevelt.

Nonleague

St. John-Endicott 42, Liberty 30: Gretchen Gfeller scored 11 points and Gracie Dickerson added nine as the Eagles (7-1) dominated early and eased past the host Lancers (1-9). St. John-Endicott forced 17 second-quarter turnovers and led 20-2 at halftime. Maggie Nelson tallied a team-high 10 points for Liberty.
