5G Will Work—If Government Gets out of the Way
At its Open Commission Meeting on March 22, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will vote on reducing some of the federal red tape slowing deployment of the next generation of wireless networks, known as 5G. To usher in a new era of 5G virtual reality, 4K video, and self-driving cars, a major network upgrade is needed. The greater data demands of such innovation will require a denser network infrastructure than exists today—more and smaller radio access nodes located closer together, known as small cells. A leading industry group predicts that hundreds of thousands of small cells will be installed over the next couple of years to make the 5G network operational. Some estimates project that $200 billion will be spent on the effort.

Anybody who believes the government should not outlaw the trade of child sexbots, which is surely coming to a future near you, has lost their minds. Republican Dan Donovan of Staten Island has elected to lead the charge against that lunacy. Though currently in its infancy, the child sexbot trade has been gaining steam in recent years, with more and more perverts buying the merchandise from overseas markets. Congressman Dan Donovan, a former prosecutor, says laws must be made against child sexbots before a wave sweeps the U.S.

In Response to Trump, the EU Suddenly Realizes That Tariffs Are Bad
Last Thursday, US President Donald Trump, signed an executive order to impose tariffs on aluminum and steel imports — of 10 percent and 25 percent respectively — exempting Canada and Mexico. Among the countries and geopolitical blocs that have denounced that Trump’s policy is the European Union. In response to the new US tariffs, European Commission president, Jean Claude Juncker, has threatened tariffs on Harley Davidson motorbikes and jeans brands like Levi’s, both made in the US. Nevertheless, the EU has already engaged in a trade war remarkably similar to that the Trump administration is now implementing. Following a European steel industry complaint, the European Commission found “dumping” practices in China, so the Commission raised new barriers to “corrosion-resistant steel from China” with "anti-dumping" duties of up to 28.5%.

Russia Is Now a Rogue State. We Must Treat It Like One
On Monday, British Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed what many already suspected: A Russian-made nerve agent was used to try to kill Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury, England. Given the nature of the weapon, May concluded, either the Russian government sanctioned the attack or it has lost control of its stock of this extraordinarily lethal substance. Moscow is still refusing to provide a straight answer.

The GOP’s Internet Tax
Some Republicans want to stuff a state sales web tax in the omnibus. Republicans have spent the last year cutting taxes and regulations, which hasn’t been easy.
