HENRY ARTHUR SEWELL
son of CHARLES ALBERT and EVA JANE (ROSS) SEWELL
was born 19 April 1897 at Lake St. Joseph, County Portneuf, Quebec
baptized on 30 May 1897 at Chapel of the Holy Trinity, Quebec
died 27 March 1983 at St. Catherines, Ontario
resided at Baie-Comeau, Quebec, then St. Catherines
occupation: Connected with pulp and paper business

Served in France as Captain with the 42nd Battalion of the Black Watch (Royal highlanders of Canada), C.E.F., First World War of 1914-1918.
By October 1916 he had served for three years in the 8th R.R., eleven months in the 42nd Bn. C.E.F. and four months in the 17th Bn. C.E.F. by which time he had been commissioned as a Lieutenant.
Mayor of Baie-Comeau, Quebec, 1937-1949.
Woodlands Manager, Quebec North Shore Paper Company, Baie-Comeau, and later, Executive Vice President, Ontario Paper Co., Ltd., Thorold, Ontario.

He married GRACE VIOLET DOUGLAS
on 19 July 1921 at St. Matthew's Church, Quebec City
she was daughter of THOMAS LUKE and GEORGINA (MITCHELL) DOUGLAS.
she was born 1893 at Quebec City, and died 1981

Her grandfather, THOMAS HENRY MITCHELL, born 29 May 1822, married CHARLOTTE AMELIA SALERNE, who was born 31 December 1818, at Versailles, France, and died 14 January 1888.  Her father was born January 1845 at Edinburgh, Scotland (?).  He died at Quebec City 8 December 1900.  her mother was born 15 march 1860 and died 4 April 1943 at Quebec.
