CHARLES FLEURY ROSS
youngest son of HENRY and HARRIETT ANN (SAIT) ROSS
was born 25 July 1877 at St. Ambroise, Lorette, Quebec, Canada
died 13 September 1930 at Toronto, Ontario
buried at Toronto, 15 September 1930, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Resided at 27 Edgewood Crescent, Toronto
Occupation: Manufacturer's Agent in shoe industry.

As a young man he was keenly interested in military affairs, being an officer in the Queen's Own Canadian Hussars of Quebec City.  He was one of four non-commissioned officers of that corps who participated in the celebrations in London, England, of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
He was a Mason.

He married MARY EVELYN (EVA) O'CONNOR
on 14 December 1903 at St. John's the Evangelist's, Berlin, Ontario.
She was born 22 January 1878 at Berlin (later Kitchener) Ontario
and died 24 march 1934 at Toronto.
buried at Toronto, 26 March 1934, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery

She subsequently married J. A. McLEAN of Toronto.

CHARLES FLEURY ROSS  (1877-1930)

     Born the 25th of July, 1877, at St. Ambroise, Jeune Lorette, Quebec, Charles Fleury Ross was the youngest son of Henry Ross and Harriett Ann Sait of Jeune Lorette.  He was educated in Quebec City.

     As a young man, he was keenly interested in military affairs, and joined the Queen's Own Canadian Hussars, a cavalry regiment of the Non Permanent Active Militia in Quebec City.  He was one of four non-commissioned officers of that regiment who participated in the celebration in London, England, of Her Majesty Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897.

     On the 14th December, 1903, he married Mary Evelyn (Eva) O'Connor of Berlin (Kitchener), Ontario, the ceremony taking place at St. John the Evangelist Church, with the Rev. J. Andrews conducting the service.  At first the resided at Quebec City, where their two children were born: Henry Charles (Harry), on the 30th March 1905, and Evelyeen Lonsdale, on the 27th September, 1909.  Later, the family moved to Toronto, Ontario, and resided at 27 Edgewood Crescent.

     Charles Ross was a manufacturer's agent in the shoe industry in which he was widely known in Canada and the United States.  He was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Toronto, and was a Mason.  He died the 13th of September 1930, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 53 years, and his funeral service was held at St. Paul's, with the Rev. Canon H. J. Cody, rector, officiating.  He was buried in Mount Pleasant cemetery, Toronto, and was survived by his widow, son and daughter, a brother, Percy Drummond Ross of Jeune Lorette, Quebec, and seven sisters residing in Quebec City and Lorette.

     Only two months after his death, his attractive young daughter, Evelyeen, died on the 9th of November, 1930, at the age of twenty-one.

     His wife subsequently married J. A. McLean, former Assistant General Manager of Canada Packing Company, Ltd.  She died suddenly at 27 Edgewood Crescent, Toronto, on Sunday, 24th March, 1934, and was buried in Mount Pleasant cemetery.  She was survived by her second husband and her son, Henry Charles Ross, a sister, Mrs. C. B. Johnston, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, two brothers, Henry O'Connor, Sault St. Marie, Ontario, and William O'Connor, Manma, Michigan.

     On the first of September, 1934, Harry Ross, his son, married Edith Grace Cunningham, daughter of James Henry Cunningham and Edith Emma Feiles his wife, the ceremony taking place at Toronto.  Edith Grace was born on the first of April, 1905, at Sudbury, Ontario.  Their only child, a daughter, Joan (Judy) Cunningham Ross, was born at Toronto on the 6th May, 1937.  She married John David Holmes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney David Holmes of Toronto, on the 3rd of October, 1959, and they have two sons: John Andrew Ross, born 29th June, 1965, and Jeffery David Ross, born 8th May, 1967.

     Henry Charles Ross died at Toronto on the 27th July 1970.
