For the second time in five years, Fort Hood was the site of a shooting by a rogue member of the military. Liberals Are Using Campaign Disclosures to Intimidate and Harass
The resignation of Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich over a personal $1,000 donation he made in 2008 in support of California’s Proposition 8 shows the dark side of campaign disclosure laws and how liberals are using them to intimidate, harass, and bully anyone who disagrees with them on social and cultural issues.

Eich Is Out. So Is Tolerance.
Mozilla Corp. co-founder Brendan Eich has resigned as CEO after a week of public pressure stemming from a campaign contribution he made six years ago. Eich supported the wrong cause; he supported California’s Proposition 8, the ballot initiative that defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman. Was President Obama a bigot back when he supported marriage as the union of a man and woman? How quickly everyone forgets.

Washington Post Gets the Numbers Wrong on Judicial Nominees
At this point in Bush’s second term, the Senate had confirmed just 28 of his judicial nominees (and 222 overall including his first term). At this rate, Obama could add another 37 judges to the federal judiciary this year, and over the remainder of his second term, Obama is set to steamroll Bush’s total number of confirmations.

Overcrowding Forces New Camps for Nigeria’s Internally Displaced
As attacks by the radical Islamic insurgency Boko-Haram and its affiliates, such as violent groups of ethnic Fulani Herdsmen, continue to mount death and destruction upon the now-staggering north Nigerian state, the nation's emergency management agency (NEMA) founded 11 new camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs). Fleeing both as victims of destruction and land seizures and as innocents fearing for their lives, the nation's vulnerable continue mass exoduses from the nation's destabilized north. Many of them Christians, IDPs have and continue to plead with the state for expanded services and protections to save themselves, their families, and friends from the wrath of Islamic extremism that continues to plague Nigeria.

Innonence Meets its End in the CAR
Death tolls continue to rise following a recent attack on a predominantly Christian neighborhood in north Bangui. The alleged result of a series of reprisals between anti-balaka militias and Chadian security forces, this most recent attack is but one in a series of violent clashes throughout the country resulting in the deaths of innocent civilians--in many cases, Christians. The CAR continues to struggle with escalating violence and lethal religious skirmishes following the temporary military coup by radical Islamist front Séléka in March of last year. ICC unilaterally condemns all violence in the CAR and, in accordance with many in-country Christian networks and churches, continues to call for peace throughout the increasingly factional nation.

UK: Christian Street Preacher Wins Settlement After Arrest
Street preacher John Craven has been awarded compensation for wrongful arrest in a settlement made just days before his case was to be heard in court. Craven was arrested in 2011 while preaching in public after being confronted by two teenagers who questioned Craven about his view of homosexuality. Craven responded with a Biblical based position on the topic but said that "whilst God hates sin, He loves the sinner." The teenagers complained to police, saying they were offended by his speech, and Craven was subsequently arrested and held for 19 hours. It is becoming increasingly difficult for Christians to publicly espouse their beliefs in Western Europe, thanks to a prevailing anti-Christian culture.

Obama “Silent” Over Persecution Christians In Saudi Arabia
When President Obama met with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, he missed an opportunity to speak out for the protection of fundamental human rights, including those of Christians living in one of the most restrictive countries. President Obama has repeatedly claimed that promoting these rights are a key objective of his foreign policy, but in actions he has not demonstrated this. Key positions in his administration remain vacant and in addressing those with serious issues the United States has missed numerous opportunities.

A History of Marginalized Religious Liberty in the US Air Force
The recent forced erasure of a scripture from the whiteboard of a cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy drew nationwide attention to the state of religious liberty within the U.S. military. This article, published by Town Hall, provides an overview of multiple incidents of religious liberty violations over the past six years.

Christian Prisoner in Iran Protests Harsh Treatment with Hunger Strike
Vahid Hakkani has gone on hunger strike to protest the harsh treatment and the unjust imprisonment he is facing. He has been denied a conditional release that is possible upon completion of half of his sentence. His family has pressed for Vahid’s release in light of his serious health conditions but to no avail. He is just one of at least 49 Iranian Christians currently being held for charges as a result of their faith.

Christians and Activists in Pakistan Fast and Pray for Blasphemy Victims
Christians and other human right activists participated in a prayer and fasting service to show solidarity for two Pakistani Christians currently suffering under Pakistan's controversial blasphemy laws. Last week, Sawan Masih was sentenced to death following a year long trial in which he was accused of making derogatory remarks about the prophet Mohammad. Also, the appeal of Christian woman Asia Bibi continues as she was also sentenced to death for allegedly making derogatory remarks against the Islamic prophet. Please, take a moment to remember these two persecuted Christians today.

Use of Blasphemy Laws Spreading Across Muslim World
According to a recent report, more and more Muslim majority countries are beginning to enforce Islamic blasphemy laws to the determent of religious minorities. In many cases, the people who suffer the most under blasphemy laws are religious minorities. Many believe that blasphemy laws are not compatible with international human rights standards because the violate individuals religious freedom and free speech right.

Iran: Prison Sentences For Six Christians Upheld On Appeal
The sentences for six Christians were upheld in a ruling on March 29. Eight Christians were arrested in Shiraz in the fall of 2012. At the hearing on March 29, six of the sentences were upheld, one Christian had the charges dropped, and another had been released in December 2013. The Iranian regime has increasingly cracked down on Christians charging them with actions against national security for their religious beliefs.

New U.S. time standard: Atomic clock will neither gain nor lose one second in about 300 million years
National Institute of Standards and Technology has officially launched a new atomic clock, called NIST-F2, to serve as a new US civilian time and frequency standard, along with the current NIST-F1 standard. NIST-F2 would neither gain nor lose one second in about 300 million years, making it about three times as accurate as NIST-F1, which has served as the standard since 1999. Both clocks use a 'fountain' of cesium atoms to determine the exact length of a second.

Wearing a fitness tracker on your wrist or clipped to your belt is so 2013. Engineers have demonstrated thin, soft stick-on patches that stretch and move with the skin and incorporate off-the-shelf electronics for sophisticated wireless health monitoring. The patches stick to the skin like a temporary tattoo and incorporate a unique microfluidic construction with wires folded like origami to allow the patch to bend and flex.

Gravity measurements confirm subsurface ocean on Saturn's moon Enceladus
In 2005, NASA's Cassini spacecraft sent pictures back to Earth depicting an icy Saturnian moon spewing water vapor and ice from fractures, known as "tiger stripes," in its frozen surface. It was big news that tiny Enceladus -- a mere 500 kilometers in diameter -- was such an active place. Since then, scientists have hypothesized that a large reservoir of water lies beneath that icy surface, possibly fueling the plumes. Now, using gravity measurements collected by Cassini, scientists have confirmed that Enceladus does in fact harbor a large subsurface ocean near its south pole, beneath those tiger stripes.

Monster 'El Gordo' galaxy cluster is bigger than thought
Astronomers have weighed the largest known galaxy cluster in the distant universe and found that it definitely lives up to its nickname: El Gordo (Spanish for "the fat one"). By precisely measuring how much the gravity from the cluster's mass warps images of far-more-distant background galaxies, a team of astronomers has calculated the cluster's mass to be as much as 3 million billion times the mass of our Sun. The Hubble data show that the cluster is roughly 43 percent more massive than earlier estimates based on X-ray and dynamical studies of the unusual cluster.
