O’Reilly: News Media Needs to ‘Ditch Its Outwardly Liberal Bent’ to ‘Regain Respect’
“It is not a stretch for any fair-minded person to believe that the national media leans heavily left and despises President Trump, not willing to give him a chance or any benefit of the doubt," said O’Reilly. “Surely, that’s what’s going on.” He conceded that the “adversarial nature of the press” is vital to a successful democracy, “but when the press aligns itself with a political movement – in this case, liberalism – then it is no longer objective or free.”
Rev. Graham: Trump Says 'What We All Know ... News Media Has Been Lying' -- 'Fake News'
Rev. Franklin Graham said President Donald Trump is correct about the news media today, that they lie and create "fake news," and added that the media should do what the Bible instructs, "You shall not circulate a false report."
Mnuchin Must Bring Transparency to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
Now that he has been confirmed, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has a lot on his plate. He needs to do what he can administratively to reduce the crushing burden of the Dodd-Frank Act on small banks and credit unions. He also needs to work with Congress on major legislative fixes such as the forthcoming Financial Choice Act from House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), a restructuring of the convoluted housing finance system, and comprehensive tax reform. But first, Mnuchin must do everything he can to reverse the extreme secrecy practiced by the Obama Treasury Department.
It’s Time to Shine a Light on Regulatory ‘Dark Matter’
Regulation is not the only way the federal bureaucracy inhibits innovation. President Donald Trump’s desire to shrink the regulatory state by significantly cutting the number of regulations and their impact is laudable. But it won’t be easy, and it won’t be sufficient, because the federal bureaucracy’s tentacles reach deep into private enterprise through a number of non-regulatory programs and actions that if left in place will continue to hinder economic growth.

A 17-year-old boy is dead and his twin brother in custody after an early Sunday morning stabbing in Coulee City. Deputies were called around 2:30 a.m. to a home in the 300 block of West Washington Street. Monday morning, the Grant County Coroner identified the victim as Shane C. Wachter. His twin brother is in custody for investigation of manslaughter and assault-domestic violence.
The twin brother of Shane Wachter will be in court Tuesday for his first time before a judge. Grant County Sheriff’s PIO Kyle Foreman says that’s when we might find some answers. “He’ll go before a judge and during that period of time is the presentation of the evidence from the investigators. That will probably shed some light on what happened early Sunday morning.”

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
Compared to the freight borne by the eucharistic prayer in Christian theology and spirituality, relatively little has been considered to hang on that part of the Sunday liturgy known as “The Prayers of the People” or “The Prayer of the Faithful.” It is easy enough to buy a book containing prayers of intercession tailor-made for each Sunday and special occasion in the calendar, but harder to point to a theological treatment of intercessory prayer within the context of the Eucharist.

GRAPH: How much debt did each president leave the country?
President Franklin Roosevelt, who presided over most of World War II, left the country with more debt than any other president to date. Public debt as a share of GDP was at 95.7 percent in 1944, his last full calendar year in office. It's worth noting presidents do not have full control over the federal budget, so they don't deserve full responsibility for debt levels when they leave office. Timing, wars and recessions cannot totally be pinned on presidents, and they have a major impact on the national debt. Still, the veto pen is a major tool in budget debates, and the president arguably deserves more credit or blame than any other individual.
