CNN's Henderson Wrongly Claims Illegals Commit Less Crime Than US Citizens

Grist Blames Climate for Oroville Dam
Climate alarmists always want to have it both ways on weather: blaming drought, floods, storms, and more on manmade global warming. They also often exploit the news of a disaster, which is precisely what the left-wing environmental journalism site Grist did on Feb. 16, when it reacted to the flooding in Northern California and a near dam failure in Oroville. Grist has claimed that man-made climate change -- not poor engineering -- caused the Oroville Damn crisis.

Karen Mirzoyan: The unrecognised minister
It is not easy to represent the unrecognised Republic of Artsakh, but the stakes could not be higher: extinction.

Irish unification on voters' minds
The question of whether to hold a post-Brexit referendum on a united Ireland is dominating Thursday's (2 March) elections in Northern Ireland. Following the success of the Good Friday Peace Agreement in 1998, such an issue was thought unlikely to emerge for several generations - if at all. But the economic and political ramifications of Britain’s decision to leave the EU has reopened the old debate.

Secession Could Give California the Reality Check it Needs
CalExit could very well lead to disaster if people and businesses decided to vote with their feet. Of course, independence could also have a sobering effect on the state’s kleptocrats and help them to recognize the importance of quasi-sensible policy. The state’s feudalistic economic system would be unsustainable.

Jews As the Enemies of the Enemies of Liberty
Anti-Semitism, it’s often said, is the oldest prejudice. The hatred of Jews has waxed and waned over the centuries, but appears to be back with something of a vengeance over the last few years, and especially the last few months. The sources of anti-Semitism on both Right and Left are complicated, but one element on both sides is that Jews have historically been associated with important liberal ideas such as capitalism, entrepreneurship, cosmopolitanism, and free migration. These institutions have enabled massive social, cultural, and economic change, empowering the previously powerless all over the world, and threatening the old order.

These Cases Prove the Left Is Wrong to Dismiss Voter Fraud
Voter fraud is back in the news, and liberals are not happy about it. President Donald Trump has pledged that his administration will fully investigate voter fraud in U.S. elections and recently appointed Vice President Mike Pence to lead the charge. Voter fraud often goes undetected for a multitude of reasons. Many states lack the policies and procedures needed to detect fraud, either as it occurs or after the election. Prosecutors, forced to work with limited resources, often do not prioritize these cases, particularly after an election has occurred.

The squeeze is on: Tax bills soar at Seattle’s old apartment buildings
Property-tax bills are soaring on Seattle’s old-school apartment buildings, where tenants can least afford to pay higher rents. This is how gentrification happens. The irony is that while the tax levies are aimed at helping working-class folks..the taxes are hitting the hardest at this older apartment stock, which is Seattle’s last storehouse of naturally affordable housing.
