Catholic Bishops Draft Open Letter to Address of Global Christian Persecution
ICC Note: The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops has raised concerns about “serious challenges” at home and abroad in an open letter to Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. Reflecting on a six year high of religious hostilities worldwide, the Conference raises several major concerns of international religious freedom rights groups and faith-based organizations. In a world of increasing governmental restriction upon and social hostilities against the quintessential human right to worship freely, the need for Christians to advocate on behalf of those persecuted for their faith has become ever more crucial.

Exposing Kashi Cereal For The Poison That It Is
There is an established misconception among consumers that natural or even organic labeling means more nutritious and less toxic ingredients. This is not always the case and breakfast cereals are no exception. The Kashi brand is owned by Kellogg Company, one of the largest breakfast cereal makers in the world. The ownership base of Kashi is still not widely recognized or common knowledge, especially since the Kashi website continues to paint a picture of being a small company. Investigations into Kashi cereals show deceiving claims after their breakfast products were found to be riddled with genetically modified (GM) and pesticide loaded ingredients.

Mite sets new record as world's fastest land animal
A Southern California mite far outpaces the Australian tiger beetle, the current record-holder for running speed as measured in body lengths per second. By this measure, the mite runs 20 times faster than a cheetah and the equivalent of a person running 1300 miles per hour. The discovery is exciting not only because it sets a new world record, but also for what it reveals about the physiology of movement and the physical limitations of living structures, the researcher says.

Cartilage, made to order: Living human cartilage grown on lab chip
The first example of living human cartilage grown on a laboratory chip has been created by scientists. The researchers ultimately aim to use their innovative 3-D printing approach to create replacement cartilage for patients with osteoarthritis or soldiers with battlefield injuries. Osteoarthritis is marked by a gradual disintegration of cartilage, a flexible tissue that provides padding where bones come together in a joint. Causing severe pain and loss of mobility in joints such as knees and fingers, osteoarthritis is one of the leading causes of physical disability in the United States.
