Maher Again Bites Hand That Feeds Him, Rips 'Political Correctness Nazis'
Left-wing court jester Bill Maher has shown a delightful willingness to insult other liberals, such as when he went after them as apologists for Joe Stalin, MSNBC's obsession with Bridgegate, and Michelle Obama sounding awkwardly similar to GOP congressman Paul Ryan. Last night the pattern continued, though this time Maher made sure to malign conservatives even more, lest anyone get the wrong impression.

Why This New Best Seller About Income Inequality Is Wrong
SHOCK: Obama's Economic Policies will Bring a Second Great Depression
Barack Obama's incompetent income-redistribution policies have failed.
One oddity of the current economic debate is that the more Barack Obama’s incompetent income-redistribution policies have failed, the more the left calls for more government-intervention policies to correct for the deficiencies of the earlier rounds. American middle-income families have lost nearly $3,000 in purchasing power since 2007, and the left’s only solution to get us out of the rut is more debt, more social-welfare spending, more income redistribution and higher taxes on the rich and big business.
How Affirmative Action Hurts Minorities
Tuesday’s Supreme Court ruling that Michigan voters had the right to ban racial preferences in university admissions didn’t sit well with the court’s self-described “Wise Latina,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Her 58-page-long dissent made clear that she’ll be the last line of defense for affirmative-action policies at the highest court in the land.

Religious Repression and Economic Opportunity in the Middle East
ICC Note: When Christians and religious minorities are persecuted for their faith it often exposes other areas of restriction and repression. On the opposite side when religious freedoms are protected, other rights are protected and societies generally are able to flourish. Protecting Christians from persecution is not just about Christians and their rights but is for the good of entire societies.
Christians Targeted in Global Persecution
ICC Note: “The West is sleep-walking into a tragedy,” says Lord Alton of the UK. The reality of persecution of Christians in the Middle East and beyond is occurring with near daily frequency and yet the response to these attacks is muted at best. While structures exist to protect Christians and to prosecute those responsible for the acts they are often not enforced.
Boko Haram Named Second Most Deadly Terrorist Group
ICC Note: 2014 has been an unprecedented year in terms of violence, destruction, and death perpetrated by U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and radical Islamic insurgency Boko Haram. It's name translating roughly as "western education is a sin," Boko Haram has in recent days attacked several northern Nigerian villages, slaughtering dozens of innocents, killed 71 and injured more than 130 in a bus bombing targeting Easter worshipers in Nigeria's capital city of Abuja, and abducted 243 girls from a secondary school located in a predominantly Christian community. Pursuing its goal of establishing a seperate Islamic state for the practice of Sharia Law with a vengeance, Boko Haram continues to destablize Nigeria and the region, threatining Christian's security and ability to frelly worship our Lord and Savior.
Is A War Being Waged Against Christian in Africa?
ICC Note: For decades, diverse religious dynamics have played out across the continent; but, in recent years, those divisions have lead to greater conflicts and high levels of violent persecution against Christians than ever before recorded. In many countries across Africa, increasing radicalization has lead to sectarian clashes formulated along religious divides. As the CatholicJournal reflects on some of the more recent violent attacks on African Christians, keep the continent, its nations, and their Christian populations in your prayers.
7-Year-Old Christian Girl Sexually Assaulted by 4 Muslim Men in Pakistan
ICC Note: According to recent reports, a 7-year-old Christian girl from the village of Mally ki in Pakistan was gang rapped by four Muslim men on April 22, 2014. The Christian girl has been moved to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition. Police and other local Muslim hardliners initially pressured the family of the girl into not filing a police report. With the assistance of human rights organizations, the family has now filed the case and is demanding justice for their daughter. Please pray for this family and for the health of the girl who was attacked.
Christian Hospital in Afghanistan Attacked; 3 American Doctors Shot
ICC Note: Earlier this week, a CURE International hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan was attacked by one of the Afghan police ordered to guard the medial facility. According to reports, three American doctors were shot when the Afghan police officer opened fire on them as they exited the hospital. CURE International has played down the religious aspect of the attack. Afghanistan, considered one of the most purely Islamic country on the planet, has a history of violent incidents against Christians both foreign and native. Whatever the motivation for the attack, ICC joins in the call for prayer.

That ‘Gut Feeling’: 7 Ways to Better Listen to Your IntuitionHave you ever been in a situation where your “gut feeling” told you one thing, but your rational mind said another? If you went with your brain rather than your intuition, there’s a good chance you ended up regretting your decision. Your intuition is the subconscious leader that many people fail to give proper respect to. But learning to listen to this internal compass could help you make better decisions and live a more fulfilling life.

Obamacare deals blow to one-doctor medicine
Despite the predictions of fortune tellers in politics and think tanks, we won’t know for years whether the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, will ultimately leave people sicker or healthier, richer or poorer. Yet already the law, coming on top of previous legislation, is speeding the demise of an American small-business institution; the one-doctor medical practice.
