Chewelah 63, Riverside 46: Derek Smith scored 15 points and handed out six assists as the Cougars (3-3, 2-0) got out to a quick start and beat the visiting Rams (2-5, 0-2). Brandon Smith had 15 points, Ben Johnstone added 12 and Caleb Wiebe chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds for Chewelah. The Rams were led by Tyler Axtell’s game-high 21 points.

Freeman 51, Newport 43: Jacob Phipps made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points as the Scotties (1-5, 1-0) clipped the visiting Grizzlies (2-5, 1-2). Jeron Konkright scored 14 points for Newport.

Medical Lake 65, Kettle Falls 36: Austin Garza scored 16 points and Adam Paulson added 12 as the Cardinals (4-3, 2-0) turned up the intensity in the second half and raced past the host Bulldogs (4-4, 0-3). Tyler Johnson had nine points for the Bulldogs.

St. George’s 60, NW Christian 44: Junior Dexter Sienko’s big night propelled St. George’s to a 60-44 Northeast 2B League win at Northwest Christian on Tuesday night and kept the Dragons perfect on the basketball season.  Sienko scored 26 points on 8-of-10 shooting – including 10 of 12 from the free-throw line – and added 19 rebounds, 10 blocks and five steals.  Erik Muelheims and Will Tender added 14 points apiece for the Dragons (9-0, 5-0), who pulled away in the second half to seal the win.  Nick Kiourkas led three Northwest Christian (5-2, 3-2) players in double figures with 14 points.

Colfax 50, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 45: Brandon Gfeller scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the Bulldogs (6-3, 3-2) handed the visiting Broncos (5-1, 4-1) their first loss of the season. Dylan Hartz scored 12 points and Colby Starring added 10 points and nine rebounds for Lind-Ritzville/Sprague.

Reardan 47, Davenport 44: Nick Brockman scored 16 points and Daniel Peone added 14 as the Indians (3-6, 2-3) beat the host Gorillas (5-4, 1-4). Josh Likkel scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Davenport.

Liberty 58, Springdale 31: Match Burnham and Ryan Thayer scored 15 points apiece and Zack Kunkel added 14 as the Lancers (5-3, 2-3) routed the host Chargers (0-8, 0-5). Liberty made 25 of 30 free throws.

Curlew 60, Columbia 32: Dalton Drennan scored 18 points and Gunner Brown and Aaron McCullough added 11 apiece as the Cougars (3-6, 1-3) beat the Lions (0-7, 0-4) in Hunters. Dustin Wyborney scored 11 points for Columbia.

Wilbur-Creston 48, Republic 43: Nick Densley scored 15 points and Garet Townsend added 14 as the Wildcats (4-2) edged the host Tigers (4-3). Saxon Brown tallied a game-high 18 points and Dan Slagle had seven points and 15 rebounds for Republic.

Valley Christian 56, Cusick 39: Bo Piersol scored 14 points and grabbed 14 boards and Nick Cox added 14 points and 12 rebounds as Valley Christian (3-2) beat visiting Cusick (7-1).

Selkirk 68, St. Michael’s 50: Dominic Cain and Avery Miller scored 25 points apiece and the Rangers (5-2) beat the host Warriors (0-6). Gabe Durazo scored 19 points for St. Michael’s.

Freeman 54, Newport 37: Alisha Sorensen had 20 points and five steals as Freeman stayed undefeated and handed Newport its first Northeast A League loss of the season, 54-37 Tuesday night at Freeman.  Molly McIntyre added 17 points and seven rebounds for the Scotties (6-0, 2-0), who outscored the Grizzlies 20-7 in the third quarter to build on their seven-point halftime lead.  Courtney Wiese tallied a team-high 14 points for Newport (4-3, 2-1).

Medical Lake 51, Kettle Falls 44: Sabrina Earle scored 19 points and the Cardinals (4-3, 1-1) surged in the fourth quarter and beat the host Bulldogs (3-5, 0-3). Tied at 33 entering the fourth, Medical Lake outscored Kettle Falls 18-11 in the fourth to put the game out of reach. Josie Stanard and Randi Goodnight each scored 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Riverside 49, Chewelah 46: Courtney Davis scored a game-high 25 points and the Rams (6-1, 2-0) edged the host Cougars (3-4, 1-1). Chewelah was led by Brittney Wuesthoff’s 15 points.

Northeast 2B

Reardan 60, Davenport 19: Kelsey Moos scored 19 of her game-high 24 points in the first half as the Indians (7-1, 5-0) whipped the host Gorillas (2-7, 1-4). Chantel Heath and Katy Burge added 12 points apiece for Reardan, which led 34-7 at halftime.

Colfax 57, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 36: Nicole Sheer had 18 points and 10 rebounds and the Bulldogs (8-1, 5-1) pulled away in the second quarter and beat the visiting Broncos (2-4, 2-3). Amelie Bruya added 12 poins for Colfax, which outscored Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 20-6 in the second quarter. The Bulldogs held a 40-26 rebounding advantage. Jenna Bennett had 11 points and Randi York had 10 for the Broncos.

Northwest Christian 60, St. George’s 24: Chanel Knight scored 18 points and Mariah Guske added 14 as the Crusaders grabbed control early and eased past the host Dragons. Northwest Christian forced 21 turnovers, which led to a lot of easy points. The Crusaders outscored St. George’s 14-4 in the first quarter and led by 16 points at the half. Taryn Stamper tallied a team-high seven points for the Dragons.

Springdale 36, Liberty 32: Taylor Smith scored 11 points and the Chargers (4-4, 2-3) hung on late and edged the visiting Lancers (1-7, 0-5). Springdale made seven free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off Liberty. Aly Tee led the Lancers with a game-high 14 points.

Northeast 1B

Columbia 65, Curlew 28: Elizabeth Larrew erupted for 29 points and Kaitlin Jones added 18 as the Lions (3-3, 2-1) dumped the Cougars (3-6, 1-3) in Hunters. Brittany Mumford and Haleigh Gibson combined for 23 of Curlew’s 28 points.

Nonleague

Cusick 72, Valley Christian 29: Nalene Andrews led three players in double figures with 19 points and Cusick (7-0) overwhelmed host Valley Christian (0-5). Lindy Riggan scored 12 points for Valley Christian.

St. Michael’s 48, Selkirk 41: Macaela Shelley scored 16 points and Becky Raynor added eight points and eight steals as the Warriors (1-5) came from behind to beat the visiting Rangers (4-3). St. Michael’s outscored Selkirk 31-17 in the second half to erase a seven-point halftime deficit. Katie Couch tallied a game-high 19 points for the Rangers.
