In brief:  From Wire Reports:

Monagahan sues over contraception

Detroit – The founder of Domino’s Pizza is suing the federal government over mandatory contraception coverage in the health care law.

Tom Monaghan, a devout Roman Catholic, said contraception isn’t health care but a “gravely immoral” practice.

He filed a lawsuit Friday in federal court. It also lists as a plaintiff Domino’s Farms, a Michigan office park complex that Monaghan owns.

Monaghan offers health insurance that excludes contraception and abortion for employees. The new federal law requires employers to offer insurance including contraception coverage or risk fines.

Monaghan said the law violates his rights; he is asking a judge to strike down the mandate. Similar lawsuits are pending nationwide.

Waterville 64, Manson 56:  Waterville’s dominant first quarter — the Shockers led 16-6 after the period — helped it beat visiting Manson.  “We’re balanced. Everybody scored. Pateros 47, Lake Roosevelt 38:  Carlos Ceniceros scored 16 points for Pateros (3-3), which posted a victory over visiting Lake Roosevelt.  “We were able to get buckets in transition, and we rebounded pretty well and limited our turnovers,” said Billygoats coach Mike Hull.

Mansfield 52, CBSS 39:  Macen McLean posted 25 points, 18 rebounds, six steals and two blocked shots in Mansfield’s win over Columbia Basin Secondary School.
