The following appeared in the Grand Coulee Star on Thursday, Mar. 5, 1964:

Charles Seaton is GC Salutatorian

Charles Seaton, a senior at the Grand Coulee High School, received a telegram from Senator Warren G. Magnuson informing him that he had been selected as a first alternate to the Naval Academy.  First alternate is a candidate that is second in line for an appointment, depending on whither or not the principle candidate passes scholastic and physical tests held in early March.
Charles also received word from Representative Catherine May, that he was nominated along with 11 other boys on a competitive basis.  From this group the Naval Academy will select two principle candidates after the final Academy examination is given in march.
Charles is the salutatorian of the 1964 graduating class.  He is the son of Mrs. Lorene Gilman and Mr. Clair Seaton.

Couple Married at Mercer Island

A double ring ceremony July 28 in the Mercer Island Holy Trinity Lutheran Church joined Susan Rask Fauchald and Chalres Clair Seaton in marriage.]
The bride wore a floor-length white satin gown with a fitted bodice and scoop neck.  Venetian lace accentuated the waisteline, and a satin panel hung to the floor from a shoulder attachment.  Her English illusion veil with satin flowers and lined in pearls and venetian lace fell to her elbow.
Her attendants wore white bonded crepe gowns and turquoise chiffon over turquoise satin panels in the back with matching satin-bow headpieces.  They carried baskets of blue, pink and white daisies.
A reception was held in the holy Trinity Lutheran Fellowship Hall following the ceremony.
The bride chose a turquoise double-knit suit, with whit accessories and a gardenia corsage as a going-away costume.
Susan, a graduate of the University of Washington, is presently teaching at Cottage Lake Elementary School in the Northshore School District.
Charles, who is the son of Clair Seaton of Goldendale and Mrs. Cecil Gilman of Moses Lake and spent his summers working in Goldendale, is completing his studies at the University of Washington where he is majoring in ceramic engineering.
The couple plans to make their home in Seattle following a one-month stay in San Francisco where the bridegroom will be working for Interpace (International Pipe and Ceramics.)
