74. FRANCIS4 SEATON (ELIZABETH (BETTY)3 KENNER, MARGARET2 ESKRIDGE, GEORGE1) was born 12 August  1758 (or 1756, or 1759) in Loudoun, Fairfax Co., Virginia (or Fauquier, or Frederick Co., Virginia), and died 8 June (or 1 November ) 1820 in Knox Co., Indiana.  He married REBECCA GREGG 1780, daughter of JOHN GREGG and SUSANNAH CURLE. Notes for FRANCIS SEATON:
Francis served in the Eighth Pennsysslvania Regiment of the Continental line, and was an ensign in Capt. Crawford's Militia Company. He was chosen one of the ensigns at the election of officers at the Mingo Bottoms on the Crawford Sandusky Expedition. Francis Seaton had warranted to him on 26 May 1785, a tract of land on Muddy Creek, where the town of New Lisbon, later Carmichaels, was laid out. This warrant under the title of "Elizbeth," was later transferred to the children of his sister, Betty Carmichaels, and they patented the tract. It was on this site that Francis Seaton has his grist mill as noted in the Muddy Creek Ledger.  He may have been a banker.  They moved probably along with many other families in 1799, to Indiana.  His will was made on 8 Jun 1820 and was filed for probate in Knox Co., 8 Nov of the same year. Both were buried in the Upper Indiana Cemetery, two and a half miles northeast of Vincinnes.
