Trump drops bomb on UN arms trade treaty
US President Donald Trump declared Friday that his country would not abide by a United Nations treaty aimed at regulating the global arms trade, describing it as “misguided” and an encroachment on American sovereignty. Trump said the US Senate had not ratified the 2013 Arms Trade Treaty despite his predecessor Barack Obama having endorsed it, and said he would never do so.

US, Russia, China agree on Afghanistan pullout
The US on Friday agreed with rivals Russia on China on the objective of pulling foreign forces out of Afghanistan, a key component of a peace agreement being negotiated by Washington. Zalmay Khalilzad, the US envoy negotiating with the Taliban, met with Russian and Chinese representatives in Moscow as he tries to build an international consensus for his efforts to end the long-running conflict.

Electric Cars Aren’t Nearly as Green as People Think
For years, I’ve imagined how great it would be to own an electric car. Instead of spending almost 40 bucks every week or so on gas, I could just drop by my local outpost and charge my car while I buy organic vegetables. Wouldn’t that be great? Not only for myself but also for the environment? Maybe not. Although electric cars are a step in the right direction, their production and charging still contribute to CO2 levels, in some cases even more than gas cars. Next time you see an electric car or a charging station, keep in mind the emissions involved in producing the battery and the electricity used to keep it running.

Trump Must Resist Pressure to Nationalize 5G
The US can be the world leader in 5G deployment with a free-market approach, as it has in so many other industries throughout history. American innovation can only be fully realized when the government lets entrepreneurs take the lead in realizing technology’s potential. Let’s hope that Washington doesn’t make the same mistake it made nearly a century ago by re-nationalizing spectrum to act as a wholesaler for 5G commercial use.

Why Do Socialists Hate Families?
Families provide an example of social bonds that don't rely on market transactions, prices, or “capitalist exploitation.” So, it's odd that Marx wanted to abolish the family.
