Constitution Day celebration planned

The Esther Reed Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution invites the public to celebrate the upcoming Constitution Day at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Manito Park.

Actors in period costume will perform a nonpolitical re-enactment of events surrounding the writing and signing of the Constitution.

The event will be staged at the George Washington monument adjacent to the Park Bench Café. The Constitution was signed on Sept. 17, 1787.
