Honor guard to hold special ceremony at Spring Canyon
Ceremony planned for Tuesday
The Washington Army National Guard Honor Guard will hold a “Veterans Memorial Tribute” ceremony on Tuesday, July 24, at the Spring Canyon Cemetery at 1 p.m.
“The Veterans Memorial Tribute is a tribute to those veterans of the area who never received proper military funeral honors,” explained Pvt. 1st Class Marco Cerda, an assistant team leader in the Central Washington Honor Guard in a press release Friday.
“Along with American Legion Post #157,” Cerda stated, “we will be holding a ceremony that includes the reading of the veterans’ names that are being honored, a ringing of a bell with a moment of silence after each name, and the rendering of military funeral honors.
“Please show your support for your local Veterans and pay your respects for those Veterans who have passed by attending this ceremony.”
Anyone with questions or who would like to have a deceased loved one included in the ceremony, can contact the Washington Honor Guard office at (509) 545-2267.
