Most of the cabins are still in use today.
Polly Bonderenko and Molly Lakoduk may have been among the first maids to clean those old cabins.  They both later worked at Einer's.

Sara Ireland:  My maiden name was Bonderenko. My dad Eddie Bonderenko graduated from CC in 55 and my aunt Gayle in 56. Molly was my aunt and a wonderful lady. They both came here from North Dakota in the late 40's and early 50's. My gandma Polly worked as cook at Stevens Hall on the WSU campus for many years as a cook.  May 9, 7:35pm

Steve MillerMolly was the mother of Alan Lakoduk, who is the husband of Yvonne (Miller). Polly was Molly's sister.  May 9, 7:18pm

Steve MillerPolly's daughter Gayle, is married to Dr. Duane Mickleson(sp) who is the son of Leo & Theo Mickleson, who lived accross the road from the St. Andrew's Grange Hall.  May 9, 7:34pm

There was some discussion of where this cabin was.  It may have been on the far left of the cabins pictured above.

Burkley Willis and unknown woman

Discussion of who the woman was suggests it may have been one of the two daughters of Burkley's step-mother, Lizzie.  The daughters lived in Canada.

Conor Jorgensen:  Frank Willis had the shoe repair shop. He was Harold and Virginia's grandpa and had a wooden leg. While working on shoes, he'd take one of his sharp tools and stab it in his wooden leg. I guess it really scared the kids!  May 5, 2:17pm

Virginia Carey:  Grandpa always tried to be creative with his ads. He put in one ad that said I CAN HEEL YOU AND SAVE YOUR SOLE. Some people took offense to that one.  May 5, 10:21pm

Ed DavisMy dad owned the shoe shop during the last part of his life. Dad had a cb name of Coulee City Cobbler.  May 6, 5:05pm

Cousin SamI still have a leather purse hand-made by Clarence for my mother back in the late '60's.  May 17, 10:15am

Connor Jorgensen: Can anyone help fill in the blanks? In a roundabout way I acquired this picture from my Aunt Jill. Sandra Dawes, who's in the picture, brought it in to where my aunt and uncle work because my Uncle Duane's brother, Larry Spurbeck was in the picture.  Anyway, this is the Coulee City Class of 1957 and with Virginia's help some have been identified.

Carol Edgemon Hipperson:  Tabert boy? A son of Tony and Pauline Tabert? (I thought they had just the two girls, Christie and Toni Paulette.)  May 6, 3:25pm

Conor JorgensenYes - the Tabert boy was Tony's son but not Pauline's son.  When Tony had the restaurant out at the end of the south dam, he was putting tar on the roof of the restaurant and his son was up there with him. His son fell off into a hot barrel of tar and they couldn't get it off of him soon enough and he smothered to death. Tony later married Pauline Larsen and they had the two girls like you mentioned.  May 6, 4:33pm

Conor Jorgensen:  . . . Pauline's father, Oscar Larsen was my Grandma Mabel's brother and her mother, Mildred "Babe" Pierpoint was my Grandpa Alfred's sister. . . .  May 6, 7:18pm

Marsha Neihart:  Gary Gallaway owns the produce place between Soap Lake and Ephrata. . . . May 6, 11:16pm

Virginia Carey:  The only one [dead] in this picture, that I know of, is the Tabert boy. Everyone of our 1957 graduating class is still living. . . .  May 7, 10:01pm

Dan BolyardI was looking through a 1960 edition of the Grand Coulee newspaper, and came across a reference to some "earth shocks" at Deep Lake. They caused, amongst other things, the water in the Hartline well to drop below their suction pipe.  Anyone care to comment on these "earth shocks?"

Judy P. Paap:  Love our pretty Moms marcel hairdo. Mike was a doll and I with no hair was forever a plain Jane sort. I would love to see the pic of Mom holding you cheek to cheek!
