USPG appeals for funds to stop child slavery in India
Thousands of children and young people in India, especially girls, are being trafficked every year. Typically, they are tricked into fake marriages or bonded labour, or else they are simply drugged and abducted. The Church of North India, with support from the United Society Partners in the Gospel, has launched an anti-human trafficking program to raise awareness of the practice and provide livelihood training in northern Indian communities.

This is the fourth entry in the “In Defense of” series. Confession may be one of the most misunderstood Sacraments. As with many theological issues, the Roman Catholic doctrine of Penance is oft misrepresented. The Protestant theology of it varies from denomination to denomination, though the classically Reformed traditions—Anglicans, Lutherans, and Presbyterians—all maintained some form of confession and absolution in their liturgies. Unfortunately, many modern churches are in the business of privatizing the act of confession to the individual believer and God, divorcing it from both Sacramental and corporate contexts.

This Is What Happens When You Ask Pro-Taxers to Pay More
If you want to see a bunch of hypocritical leftists squirming with embarrassment, there’s a very clever video showing what happens when a bunch of pro-tax hike millionaires are asked to voluntarily pay more money to the IRS.  I’ve even debated some of these rich, pro-tax statists on TV, telling them not to make the rest of us victims of their neurotic guilt feelings. They definitely don’t put their money where their mouths are. There is an official government webpage where people can voluntary send extra cash to Washington, but the amount of money raised doesn’t even qualify as an asterisk in the federal budget. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that people elsewhere in the world also are not keen on the idea of deliberately giving politicians extra money to spend.

Why the Greens Hate Nuclear Power
If we did stop using fossil fuels, what would make the most sense as a mass-scale substitute to coal, natural gas and oil? The solution to keeping the world's homes and factories powered up with minimal economic disruption would be for the world to build hundreds of nuclear power plants. Nothing exposes the insincerity of the global climate-change movement as does the left's hatred of nuclear power. The radical environmentalists are insisting that the only energy alternative that will save the planet is wind and solar power.

It's Time to Rethink Foreign Aid Initiatives
Does aid, in spite of the many problems with its delivery, promote democracy? Research from the World Bank suggests not. Other research goes further, suggesting that aid may hurt democratic development in developing countries. Not only has aid failed to deliver growth in Africa. It hasn’t helped democracy either. Western donors, including the United Kingdom, should re-evaluate their commitment to further disbursements of aid to the continent.

GOP Plan Finally Tackles Cost Savings, Adopts Much of Cruz Proposal

Everything You Think You Know About An Active Shooter Situation Is Wrong
I have just completed the ALICE training course on dealing with an active shooter situation. If your business has not gone through this, you need to get them on board. Immediately. This is simply some of the best training I have ever been through. And it does not involve using firearms at all. "ALICE" is the acronym for a series of responses: Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate. You do not need to do all of these responses, or in the order spelled out in the acronym. You do whatever your situation demands at the moment.

Locals Furious At Plan To Dump Radioactive Water From Fukushima Into Pacific Ocean
In the latest sign that the area surrounding the destroyed Fukushima power plant is far from ready for the return of human inhabitants, locals and fishing groups are criticizing a plan to release water containing radioactive tritium from the ruined Fukushima power plant into the ocean, according to the Telegraph. Officials of Tokyo Electric Power Co., the operator of the plant, say tritium poses little risk to human health and is quickly diluted by the ocean. But for some, the plan undoubtedly dredges up uncomfortable memories from 2013, when it was revealed that 300 tonnes of radioactive material had been leaking into the Pacific Ocean from the devastated plant every day. It was also revealed that TEPCO had known about the leaks, but had tried to cover them up.
