Donald Trump’s U-turn on his anti-China rhetoric makes sense
President Donald Trump’s rhetoric regarding trade, immigration, and other issues is often flawed or wrong, but a U-turn on his anti-China policy could help him realize his boast to “Make America Great Again.” History has shown that macho Marlboro Man-style US trade and foreign policies don’t bring the expected results. A trade and/or military war with China promises far worse results.

Health Care Bill’s Failure: Just Part of the ‘Art of the Deal’
President Donald Trump faces three irreconcilable factions: the GOP establishment, conservatives, and Democrats. He must bring them together — to “deliver the goods,” a key rule in The Art of the Deal. But first he must show them “the downside” — and convince them they will fail on their own.

Networks Censor Alleged Rape by Illegal Immigrant; Gave 11 Minutes in Two Days to Fake UVA Rape
The “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC continued their shameful blackout into Wednesday night of the horrifying alleged rape of a teenage girl in a Washington D.C. suburb high school bathroom by two men, including one here in the U.S. illegally. Instead, the pathetic liberal media that’s shown no interest in the Rockville High School case complied with Rolling Stone in giving over 10 minutes of coverage in two days to the fake 2014 claim that a University of Virginia fraternity gang raped a female student.

If you’re not convinced the media is on board with the LGBT agenda, think again. On the evening of March 23, NYC vandals damaged a bus displaying a conservative message about gender, and even tackled the vehicle’s driver. Although liberal media outlets condemned the bus’s message prior to the incident, few reported on the vandalism and its ironic assault on free speech. And if they did, biased headlines labelled the vehicle “transphobic” or “anti-transgender.”

According to Leah Finnegan in her Thursday piece for The New Republic, when Steve Bannon cast the mainstream media as full-fledged opponents of the Trump White House, it wasn’t an accurate statement, but it may have been the next best thing: a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Democrats aren't the only people who hate Donald Trump's protective immigration policy. President Trump’s executive orders pausing immigration from six countries and proposing wall along the southern border attracted criticism Thursday from an unusual source – North Korea’s Kim Jong-un regime.

Let’s Make a Commitment to Human Ingenuity
Tomorrow, between 8:30 and 9:30 PM, environmental activists will show their commitment to Mother Nature by sitting in the dark for so-called “Earth Hour.” But paying homage to the Earth for an hour a year, isn’t going to change anything. It only showcases the fact that green activists choose to ignore what really makes the world a safer and better place to live: human ingenuity.

Trump Admin Approves The Keystone XL Pipeline
The Trump administration approved the final stages of the Keystone XL oil pipeline Friday. The approval comes 16 months after the Obama administration rejected the project over concerns it would tarnish the U.S.’s reputation as a leader in the fight against global warming. The Department of State granted TransCanada, the company building Keystone XL, permission to “construct, connect, operate, and maintain pipeline facilities at the U.S.-Canadian border in Phillips County, Montana for the importation of crude oil.” Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon, Jr. signed the cross-border permit after officials reviewed TransCanada’s application in accordance with a January executive order. TransCanada submitted an application to build Keystone XL in September 2008, and the Obama administration rejected the pipeline in late 2015. The company sued the administration for $15 billion under the North American Free Trade Agreement, but that suit will be moot.

'They own Obamacare!' Furious Trump lashes out at Democrats after House Republicans' health care vote fiasco and predicts they'll come crawling to the White House for help 'when it explodes – which it will soon'
House Republicans decided to cancel a vote on a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare on Friday. Trump told reporters that Democrats would 'own Obamacare' moving forward and would ultimately beg for help replacing it. White House press secretary Sean Spicer said the president had left 'everything on the field' in an effort to line up support. But White House sources said it was ultimately Trump's decision to yank the bill. Trump said 'the losers are Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer,' the Democratic congressional leaders who would be responsible for Obamacare's 'explosion'. Trump campaigned ceaselessly on a pledge to 'repeal and replace Obamacare'.  On Friday he seemed to think he has four years – at least – to fulfill his vow: 'I never said repeal it and replace it within 64 days. I have a long time'.

Real vs Fake Health Care Reform, and How to Tell the Difference
You want to know why the “freedom caucus” has balked at passing the Trump-backed Ryancare health care proposal? Because the package does not address the core problem of the existing system. Obamacare has flopped because it disabled what remained of the competitive system with defined benefits packages, mandates that everyone be covered, requirements that everyone must purchase, and geographic limits on service provision. All these together took health care out of the realm of markets and made it a form of central planning.

THE MONOLOGUE BEYOND THE DIALOGUE
Why are Dostoevsky’s novels so compulsively readable? What makes his characters seem so alive. Dostoevsky’s polyphonic world is full of free subjects, not objects. We don’t know what they might say or do next, and we suspect that the author doesn’t know either. They speak in their own voices, and Dostoevsky doesn’t drown them out.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is warning of a rapidly growing backlog for veterans who seek to appeal decisions involving disability benefits. The red flag is included in a Government Accountability Office report released Thursday. The VA says the wait time of as much as five years for veterans seeking resolution of their claims would continue to grow without a "hiring surge" in the next budget year beginning in October.
