Lucky Peak Dam

Lucky Peak Dam is a rolled earth and gravel fill embankment dam located on the Boise River in Ada County, Idaho. Construction began in November 1949 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; the dam was operational in 1955.


"Construction of Lucky Peak Dam by the Army Corp of Engineers begin in 1949 and was completed in 1955. It is 340 feet high and cost $19 million. It has six flip-bucket discharge gates, which deflect water upward in a spectacular plume. . .
