Training journalists in the era of fake news
From Trump’s US to China, ‘we all face the same challenges’. As uncannily realistic “deep fake” videos proliferate online, including one recently retweeted by Donald Trump, journalism schools are scrambling to adapt to an era of misinformation – or fake news. Experts discussed how to train tomorrow’s reporters for these new challenges at the World Journalism Education Congress in Paris last week. The three-day event – “Teaching Journalism During a Disruptive Age” – was attended by 600 educators and researchers from 70 countries.

A couple of male politicians were recently accused of sexism for refusing to put themselves in positions where they could potentially be alone with females who aren’t their wife… including female reporters. After reading those stories, I went to the comments section, and almost all of the comments were versions of: “what does it say about these men that they’re so worried about the temptation to cheat on their wives?”

Popcorn: College Students Don't Know How To React When They Learn About Obama's Immigration Policies
One of my favorite things Campus Reform does is go out to college campuses and get students' opinions on public policy. Campus Reforms' media director, Cabot Phillips, headed to a college campus to ask students how they felt about President Donald Trump's immigration and deportation policies. He recited a quote that was actually from President Barack Obama.
