Yes, Marcus. They did die in vain.
They went selflessly. They fought bravely. They sacrificed nobly. They lived in the best traditions of duty, honor, and country -- hallowed words which dictate what every American can and ought to be. But they died in vain for the exact reason that they went where their country sent them and did what their country told them to do. America failed you because it failed its obligation to those principles.

Refugees in Central African Republic Struggle to Survive
Refugees in Central African Republic, both Christian and Muslim, are struggling to survive as Muslim militants formally attached to the Seleka group and Christian militias call a brief truce. Christian persecution spiked after the Central African Republic's former Christian led government we toppled by the Muslim Seleka group. As incidents of violence against Christians continued to spread, Christian neighborhoods began to employ militia groups who quickly turned their rage on all Muslims, regardless of their connection to the Seleka group. Since then, the Central African Republic has been plunged into chaos, pitting Christian against Muslim. Please pray for peace to be found soon.

Coptic Bishop Calls for Prayer as Egyptians Vote in Constitution Referendum
As millions of Egyptians head to the polls over the course of two days to vote on a constitutional referendum, Church leaders are calling for prayer. The first day of voting saw deadly clashes take place and as many as 11 people were killed. Security forces are active in trying to prevent violence but there have still been numerous clashes throughout the country. The constitution that has been drafted represents a strengthening of many rights for Egyptian citizens. The Christian community and most Egyptians have been supportive of it. The Muslim Brotherhood has been staunchly opposed to it, and declared it as “against Islam,” prompting much of the violence.

Libya’s Lurch toward Shariah Sends Chill through Christian Community
As the country of Libya is still trying to find some source of stability after the removal of dictator Muammar Qaddafi, the announcement that the legal system will be based on Islamic law is worrisome for the country’s small Christian community. There are some 300,000 Coptic Christians, as well as smaller pockets of other denominations. Already Christians have been under pressure from Islamic militant groups and seeing the laws of the state also being written in a way to justify religious persecution could lead to even greater persecution.

33 Christian Prisoners Abused in Pakistani Prison
Hostilities against the Christian population of Pakistan are pervasive across Pakistan Muslim majority population, including the prison population. Christians, who are disproportionately represented in Pakistan's prison population, are routinely faced with physical and mental abuse while serving in prison. Beatings, insufficient and constant demands for them to convert to Islam are only a sample of the sufferings faced by Christians in prison. According to reports from Kot Lakhpat Jail, 33 Christian prisoners were beaten severely by prison guards after an argument between a Christian teacher and a Muslim teacher took place. Please pray for these vulnerable Christian brothers and sisters.
