U.K. Calls on Pakistan to Protect Christians
After debating the issue of Christian persecution in several government institutions, the United Kingdom has called on Pakistan to protect its Christians. In a recent study, the Pew Center found that Pakistan was the most religiously hostile nations in the world. False blasphemy charges, church bombings and social hostility are among the issues Christians in Pakistan have to endure daily. Will the government of Pakistan listen to the U.K.'s call?

Slaughter of Christians Continues in Nigeria
Christians living in Nigeria's northern and central states continue to face intense persecution at the hands of the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram and the ethnic Fulani herdsmen. Last week, 33 Christians were killed in a raid on a Christian village by Fulani herdsmen. Some eye witnesses say that Nigerian soldiers were involved in the attack. Please pray for the Christians who are facing this intense persecution.

Pastor of Heavily Persecuted Church in China to Face Trumped Up Charges
Pastor Zhang Shaojie, who was arrested by Chinese authorities back in November, is to go to trial on charges of "fraud" and "disturbing public order." The pastor, along with two dozen other members of his church, were arrested in a heavy handed crack down on the Three-Self Nanle Country Christian Church in Henan Province. The arrests were most likely provoked after the pastor and other church members went to petition the government in Beijing over a land dispute. China continues to maintain tight control over religious minorities in the country and regularly arrests members of "illegal" house churches. The blatant targeting for repression of a sanctioned "Three-Self" church is more unusual. Attorneys attempting to take on the pastors case have been blocked, threatened with suspension of their law licenses, and attacked by angry mobs of government hired thugs.

Burmese Military Continues to Use Rape as ‘Weapon of War’ Against Christian Ethnic Groups
A new report by a human rights group has documented more than 100 incidents of rape by the Burmese military over the past 3 years. In 28 cases, the women raped were either killed or died of their injuries. The attacks overwhelmingly took place in areas of populated by predominantly Christian ethnic minorities. These minorities, which include the Kachin and Shan, have been in a protracted armed conflict with the military government of Burma for more than fifty years. A change to a nominally civilian government in 2010 has resulted in some new peace agreements, but human rights advocates believe abuses and discrimination still occur frequently.
