Boko Haram has been fighting the Nigerian government in northern Nigeria for four year in an attempt to establish a separate Islamic state where it can impose its fundamentalist brand of Sharia law. As a part of the groups overall strategy, Christians are attacked and killed in an attempt to purify northern Nigeria's population. Please pray for these persecuted Christians.

French Priest held by Boko Haram Released in Cameroon
A French preist kidnapped by Islamic militants on November 13 was released in Cameron after six weeks in captivity. Shortly after the priest was abducted, Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the kidnapping. Boko Haram has been fighting a large scale insurgency in northern Nigeria in an attempted to establish a separate Islamic state. As a part of its strategy, Boko Haram has violently attacked Christians to purify the population living in northern Nigeria. It is not known why Boko Haram released the priest on Tuesday, but he is in good health and good spirits.

Hindu Nationalist Party in Nepal Splits Up
On Monday, December 30, the RPP-N announced its formal split following elections that were held in November. RPP-N were a right-wing nationalist party that wanted to re-establish Nepal's monarchy and declare Nepal a Hindu states. Christians living in Nepal feared their rise to power because they have witnessed the violence unleashed on Christian in India where Hindu nationalist parties, like RPP-N, have taken over. Now that they party has split, it is less likely they will take control of Nepal in the near future.
