As the government steadily assumes responsibility for services previously provided by the private sector, small businesses shutter. It is hard for enterprising individuals to compete with widespread, “free” (i.e., taxpayer-funded) government offerings. The latest example of this is in Chicago, where the city’s universal public pre-K program is destroying private child care businesses–many of which are owned by women and people of color. An in-depth Chicago Tribune article this week, details the struggle that many small daycares are confronting as the city’s government preschool program expands. “Private child care owners say universal pre-K leaves many families with little choice where to send their children to preschool because cost becomes the determining factor of choosing CPS instead of private preschool, even if the private program better fits a family’s needs,” the Tribune reports.

Young Americans Resist Biden’s Covid Vaccination Campaign
President Joe Biden has failed his vaccination goal. According to the White House, it is unlikely that at least 70 percent of Americans will receive a first dose of the coronavirus vaccine by July 4. Despite this, officials say that Americans will still be protected enough to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends. You heard that right. No ludicrous lockdowns or threat of lockdowns loom in the horizon. This should once and for all confirm that the pandemic never warranted any of the draconian responses that ruined 2020 for most of us. Even media outlets that have long played down lockdown skepticism such as Axios are pointing out that the latest White House message is “vastly different” than this time last year, “when public health officials and some governors were limiting large gatherings and pleading with the public to only host small, outdoor events for the holiday.”
The complete lack of any correlation between economic success and covid lockdowns illustrates yet again that the confident predictions of the experts—who insisted that states without long lockdowns would endure bloodbaths and economic destruction—were very wrong.

The World Economic Forum announced June 29 it will initiate a new “public-private partnership” with Big Tech and governments around the world to identify and uproot all opinions from the Internet that it considers “harmful.” The WEF is one of those elitist organizations that wields enormous influence over the elected leaders of Western nations but which almost nobody in the general population has heard of. Its members are internationalist corporate honchos and technocrats who meet once a year in Davos with the stated goal of working to “shape global, regional and industry agendas.”
