The Incarnation is not a Plan B, not God’s response caused, and therefore limited by, human failing, It is instead the ineffably beautiful unfolding of God’s inexorable desire to fully share His glory with humanity (and, indeed, all of creation). In fact, Scotus’ argument leads to the perhaps startling conclusion that because God intended to glorify the Word in human form before intending anything else, God created the world in order for the Incarnation to occur.

Telemachus, a previously unknown monk, moved the heart of a Roman Emperor.
Fought in stadiums before tens of thousands of boisterous onlookers, ancient Roman gladiator duels are well known today—more than 1,600 years since the last one was fought. Too few people, however, know of the one man who deserves the most credit for bringing those bloody spectacles to an end. A lowly monk from either Turkey or Egypt, his name was Telemachus.

Iraqi Parliament to America: Get Lost
Iraqi legislators on Sunday approved a measure calling for the expulsion of all U.S. troops from the country in retaliation for the successful USAF Friday drone strike that killed Iranian terrorist general Qassem Soleimani. The resolution is a non-binding vote that is generally symbolic and thus the 5000 American military personnel deployed to the Near Eastern terrordome are not going anywhere in the immediate future. So, it’s really just the Iranian-backed Iraqi Shiite members of their parliament throwing a fit because we nailed one of their guys before he was about to wreak havoc on us.

SR 240 back open after tumbleweeds shut down highway for 10 hours outside West Richland
State Route 240 is back open in both directions north of West Richland after several cars became trapped in a massive pile of tumbleweeds Tuesday night. According to the Washington State Patrol, the highway closed at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and remained closed for about 10 hours near the Hanford Site. Trooper Chris Thorson said strong winds blew the tumbleweeds into an area with berms near the roadway, causing the tumbleweeds to clog the highway. He said cars briefly stopped to avoid hitting the tumbleweeds and quickly got buried. No injures were reported.
