Three people were confirmed this week in the most southerly cathedral in the Anglican Communion – but the cathedral’s bishop, Tim Thornton, had to travel some 8,000 miles from his office in London, England, for the service. The Falkland Islands are not within an Anglican Communion province but is an Extra Provincial area under the metropolitical authority of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Bishop to the Falklands is a post held by the Bishop at Lambeth – the senior episcopal assistant to the Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace.

Christian Colleges and the LGBTQ Compromise
Another Christian College has withdrawn from the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities
(CCCU). The reason? Because of the Council's new "Fairness for All" policy, which at its heart is a compromise of the very purpose most Christian schools were founded in the first place.

Newsflash, folks: it is not black people's job to "bring us together." I keep hearing that I have an obligation to “bring us together.” That’s something white people tell me all the time whenever I write something that cuts too close to some difficult racial truth. “Try to bring us together,” lectures one. “Use your skills to try to bring us together,” pleads another. “Why don’t you journalists work to bring us together?” asks yet another. I’d be willing to bet nobody ever says that to George F. Will, Kathleen Parker or any of my Caucasian colleagues. I’m just as certain most of my African-American colleagues have heard it more times than they can count.
