"There is no greater love than to give one’s life for one’s brothers.” It is with these words that the Diocese of the Armed Forces hailed the ultimate sacrifice of Gendarmerie Lieutenant-Colonel Arnaud Beltrame, who died this morning of his injuries after replacing a hostage on Friday during the terrorist attack on the Super U supermarket in Trèbes, in the French department of Aude.

Students lead march for change in Pendleton
About 160 people marched through downtown Pendleton Saturday afternoon chanting “We want change!” They were led by two dozen high school students wearing orange armbands — the color signaling “Don’t shoot!” in the hunting world — and joined by millions across the country participating in a national March for Our Lives.

Decision time approaching for Gonzaga regarding conference affiliation
The shot clock is running on Gonzaga to make a decision on conference affiliation, but the Zags sound as if they’re following one of John Wooden’s tenets: “Be quick, but don’t hurry.” The Mountain West Conference appears to have an open door to bringing in Gonzaga, potentially as early as next season, but school officials are still working through the decision-making process.
