Half the world is facing water shortages, so is it time for us all to start drinking recycled sewage? A third successive year of California's worst drought in a century has the Golden State's reservoirs at record lows. Agriculture has been affected, hitting the local economy, while some small communities risk running out of water. But business is booming in California's Orange County Water District (OCWD), through a pioneering wastewater treatment facility that recycles used water -- or sewage -- and returns it to the drinking supply. The plant is expanding production from 70 to 100 million gallons per day, enough for 850,000 people, around one-third of the county population. As the OWCD output is mixed with the main groundwater supply it reaches over 70% of residents.

So Far: Syrian Refugees in U.S. Include 2,098 Muslims, 53 Christians
President Obama said Monday that calls from some quarters for the U.S. to admit only Christian refugees from Syria were “shameful,” yet the reality is that today’s refugee system discriminates, not against Syrian Muslims, but against Christians and other non-Muslim minorities.

A SEXUAL OR ASEXUAL PUBLIC SQUARE?
Several weeks back there was a bit of a dust-up in conservative Reformed Protestant circles over the following simple question: Does being a man or a woman have any ethical significance for the way we live together in civil society? Despite the success of feminism in radically reworking gender roles over the past half century, conservative Evangelicalism has maintained a modest conviction that our sexuality has ethical import.

U.S. Has Admitted 2151 Syrian Refugees. One BIG Thing About 97.5% Of Them Is Sparking Outrage
2151 Syrian refugees have thus far been admitted to the United States– 2098 of them are Muslims, while only 53 are Christians. Christians have received particularly heavy persecution from ISIS, including mass beheadings of women and even small children. The main problem is that most of the refugees being considered for U.S. resettlement are referred by the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. According to CNS News, Christians usually avoid U.N. refugee camps because they are often persecuted there, too.
