France orders this for FIRST time since World War II in response to Paris attacks
In the midst of a wave of terror attacks across Paris, French President Francois Hollande is taking extreme measures, including some that have not been seen since the middle of the last century. This is the first time France has declared a state of emergency since the Algerian war, which took place between 1954 and 1962. It is also the first time a curfew has been imposed since the dark days of world war two in 1944.
