Why Obama's Iraq War Will Be a Disaster
When it comes to our latest foray into Mesopotamia, don’t expect the sequel to end better than the original. Why the hell is the United States going back into Iraq? And to what end? Americans famously don’t know much about history, but the willingness to ignore the immediate decade-plus of failure and plunge back into the fog of war without any clear articulation of national interests, exit strategy, or even obvious battle plan borders on the criminally insane.

'ISIS want to impregnate Yazidi women and smash our blond bloodline': Fears grow for the 300 women kidnapped from Sinjar
Scientists call evolution a unifying theory, a weight-bearing wall that frames our understanding of the natural world. But at the Institute for Creation Research in northwest Dallas, a group of nine Ph.D.s from places like Harvard and Los Alamos National Laboratory say all that molecules-to-man stuff is nonsense. And they’re out to prove it.

A disaster that’s not bad enough
Gov. Jay Inslee recently asked the Federal Emergency Management Agency — FEMA — that our charred segment of Washington be declared a major disaster and therefore eligible for various forms of federal assistance. His request was granted, but only for Okanogan County and the Colville Tribes, and only for so-called “public assistance.” which is not assistance for the public, but aid to public agencies with infrastructure bashed or carbonized. FEMA denied Inslee’s request for assistance to individuals. As it stands individual grants for housing will not be coming, as much as they are needed.
