WHY TRUMP SHOULD PARDON BUNDYS & THEIR SUPPORTERS
Federal land grab was completely illegal. Last week a Nevada jury dealt another blow this week to the government’s case against participants in an armed uprising against federal agents three years ago involving the family of rancher Cliven Bundy and his supporters. The jury acquitted two men, Richard Lovelien and Steven Stewart, of all 10 charges against them, and two others, Eric Parker and O. Scott Drexler, on most counts. The jury deadlocked on the remaining charges against Parker and Drexler, and then Judge Gloria Navarro, an appointee of President Obama hand- picked by Harry Reid, declared a mistrial.

Future George V's letter on 'too forward' boys to be sold
A letter written by the Queen's grandfather in 1908, in which he complains boys of the time are "too forward", will be sold at auction. The future George V also apologises that his son Prince Albert - who would become George VI - was "rather shy". The letter was written two years before George became king, and a day after the then 12-year-old Albert attended a Royal Navy cadet interview. Auctioneers said the letter gave an "intimate picture" of a young Albert.

Nolte: 3 Reasons Trump’s Pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio Is Awesome
President Trump’s decision to grant Arpaio a “full and unconditional pardon” was awesome, and not only an appropriate use of his constitutional powers, it was a courageous decision, one that righted yet another example of the judicial tyranny that so plagues our nation. Here are three reasons why: 1. Sheriff Joe Is Guilty Only of Upholding the Law; 2. Sheriff Joe Was Denied a Jury Trial; 3. All The Right People Are Furious Over Trump’s Pardon.

Hostility Won't Change Hearts and Minds
Fixing our public dialogue starts with understanding how vitriol hinders, rather than helps, our ability to advance our chosen causes. When it comes to persuasion, studies have found that insulting those who don't agree with you doesn't work. People typically do not do well when attacked. So what can we do instead? Find common ground.

Texas Price Gougers Are Hurricane Heroes
Texas has a law against “price gouging,” which means politicians there think they should get to determine what’s a fair price rather than allow a free market. Buyers understandably want low prices, particularly in emergency situations, and since buyers generally outnumber sellers, politicians will always have an incentive to demagogue on the issue. High profits encourage new sellers to enter the market, which brings prices down.

Joel Osteen's church staff rescued from Texas floods as critics blast lack of outreach
At least three staff members at Pastor Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, had to be rescued from their homes while several others experienced flooding due to the impact of Hurricane Harvey. "I know of about three staff members that have needed to be rescued. There may be more but I happen to know of about three of them that literally had to be pulled out of high water," Lakewood spokesperson Don Iloff, Osteen's brother-in-law, told The Christian Post on Monday. Some on social media have criticized Osteen and Lakewood for announcing that they had canceled Sunday's services because of the hurricane, suggesting that the church is closed to those who need to access the massive arena for shelter. However, Iloff told CP that there are currently about eight maintenance personnel inside the church who have been instructed to let anyone into the church who needs shelter. But to Iloff's knowledge, no one has come to the church seeking shelter. "They would have to swim to get there," he explained, adding that there is a flood shelter set up a couple miles from the church at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

REGARDING HARRASSMENT AT SJC FAIR
We call upon everyone everywhere to practice what our society so often preaches: tolerance and open mindedness. Everyone is tolerant of their friends. It is how you treat people with whom you disagree that defines tolerance and open mindedness. Over the last week our volunteers at the Republican fair booth were repeatedly called racists, or bigots, and many other labels -- by people who do not know us.

Not Even Junk Will Fetch High Interest Rates Anymore
The Federal Reserve tries and tries and just can’t muster up some price-tag ripping price inflation. Blowing up its balance sheet from $900 billion to $4.5 trillion would have seemed to send us to Zimbabwe, but no, prices just won’t cooperate with the monetary masterminds toiling away in the Eccles Building.

Saturday marked the opening of Montreal’s newest green space, Parc Frédéric-Back, which the City of Montreal hopes to transform into an outdoor attraction comparable to New York City’s Central Park. Formerly the Miron Quarry garbage dump, Parc Frédéric-Back is a huge expanse of 153 hectares, which, in the near future, will continued to be transformed into “something like Central Park,” said a representative of environmental NGO Équiterre, speaking to CTV.

HOUSTON IS DROWNING—IN ITS FREEDOM FROM REGULATIONS
Houston was built without regard for the carrying capacity of its roads, just as it was built without regulating the amount of impervious cover that would be shedding water into streets, storm sewers, rivers and Buffalo Bayou.

No, the feds shouldn’t give war machines to the police
Rand Paul: Speaking to the Fraternal Order of Police in Tennessee on Monday morning, Attorney General Jeff Sessions formally announced that the Trump administration will restart giving surplus military weapons and equipment to state and local law enforcement. That’s a mistake. What kind of equipment are we talking about? Well, Haverhill, Mass., a town of fewer than 65,000, got a nearly 20-ton Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle. Keene, NH, a town of fewer than 30,000, got an 8-ton armored BearCat. Over 10,000 bayonets have been handed out. Yes, bayonets.

Conservatism Is Not A Suicide Pact
The whiny wailing and rending of garments (mostly bow ties) by the True Cons over President Trump pardoning Sheriff Joe Arpaio brings to mind another president’s choice when a loyal supporter was the victim of a liberal witch hunt. President Bush was an honorable man, but the way he allowed Scooter Libby and the Libby family to be ruined and impoverished over what everyone knew was a skeevy liberal political vendetta before issuing a partial commutation is to W’s lasting shame. His excuse: the Rule of Law or something.

Black-clad antifa members attack peaceful right-wing demonstrators in Berkeley
Their faces hidden behind black bandannas and hoodies, about 100 anarchists and antifa— “anti-fascist” — members barreled into a protest Sunday afternoon in Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park. Jumping over plastic and concrete barriers, the group melted into a larger crowd of around 2,000 that had marched peacefully throughout the sunny afternoon for a “Rally Against Hate” gathering.
