Why Porn is a Public Health Issue
It was not that long ago that domestic violence (DV) was seen as a private family issue, rather than a public health problem of enormous magnitude that has myriad effects on the social, psychological, economic and, of course, collective health of society at large. We have now reached a similar tipping point with pornography.  As the evidence on the harms of pornography piles up, it has become clear that we can no longer sit back and allow the porn industry to hijack the sexual and emotional well-being of our culture . Extensive scientific research reveals that exposure to porn threatens the social, emotional and physical health of individuals, families and communities. These impacts highlight the degree to which porn is a public health crisis that undermines women and children’s human rights , rather than being a private matter.

Baseball Legend Luis Tiant: Castro ‘Took Away the Dreams That One Had as a Boy’
Tiant, 76, won 229 games and went to three All-Star Games in a major league career that spanned from 1964 to 1982. He was born and raised in Marianao, Cuba, and defected while he was playing in Mexico in 1961. He said that Castro “took away the freedom, the happiness, the dreams that one had as a boy.” “Cuba was the country with the most Latin American players in the majors until the regime took over and set everything back,” Tiant told ESPN. “It’s incredible, all those players that were unable to succeed, so many good ones. When I played, when I left, there were 50 or 60 players as good as me or better than me. And they could never get out. They all stayed there.”

Must Everything Be Made of Corn?
To be sure, corn is a miracle food. But is it really so miraculous that everything we use should be made out of it? Only if the market brings about this result. But it’s not the market speaking. It’s a deeply distorted market. The power of the corn lobby is legendary. It turns out that the main and most valuable products generated by all this strange corn-based activity are political careers.
