Standing Rock Sioux chairman says Army Corps must deny pipeline crossing easement, in light of new review
While most people point to Citizens United as the case that opened the door to big money in U.S. elections, the lesser-known 2010 appeals court ruling in SpeechNow.org v. FEC is perhaps just as blameworthy—one legal scholar says the decision "gave birth to the super PAC takeover of American politics." Now, a bipartisan group of lawmakers, congressional candidates, and campaign reform advocates is taking aim at that ruling, filing a lawsuit on Friday that they say "will provide the U.S. Supreme Court the opportunity to end the super PAC threat facing our democracy today."

Why Patriarchy Once Made Economic Sense
The biggest myth about patriarchy is that it’s a conspiracy wherein men have banded together to exclude and hurt women. In reality, no conspiracy is necessary. It makes more sense to assume that banks didn’t give women credit cards because most women didn’t earn the money they’d need to pay off their debts than because they hated women.
How to Develop a Work Ethic and Be an Amazing Employee
Having a work ethic is not actually difficult. It requires very little other than focus and a handful of rules. They can be summarized: punctuality, the willingness to do what is asked of you, the discipline to stay on task, the drive for excellence, the capacity to be creative, the passion for discovery of unmet needs, and the adoption of a service-oriented mindset. To have a work ethic means to have an insatiable inner drive, to adopt the right values to bring about productivity as extension of the choices you make in your career.

Jobs Report Shows Little Change in Labor Market
The labor market didn’t change much in October, according to today’s Bureau of Labor Statistics employment report. Unemployment and job creation have remained steady over 2016. Those trends continued last month. The household survey reported that unemployment fell by 0.1 percentage points, to 5.0 percent. However, this drop primarily occurred because over 400,000 Americans left the labor force. (Americans who aren’t looking for work do not count as unemployed.) Consequently, labor force participation also dropped 0.1 percentage points, to 62.8 percent. The hourly earnings figures were the best news in the October jobs report, as average earnings rose 10 cents, to $25.92 an hour.

Obamacare, a veritable fountain of unintended consequences, is a 21st century showcase of government central planning. Let’s be clear. This is what President Barack Obama wanted. Obama-Clinton Economics: Failing America
Today’s disappointing jobs report is the culmination of eight years of lackluster economics that has featured a shrinking middle class struggling with stagnant wages, slow growth, higher taxes and rising health care and college costs. While the middle class has struggled under the last eight years, Hillary Clinton gives Obama an “A” and wants to double down on his failed record. On Tuesday, we have, as Bill Clinton so appropriately put it, “finally come to the point where we can put the awful legacy of the last eight years behind us.”
