Turkish PM Erdogan Top Backer of Hamas
Since 2012, the #1 donor for Hamas has been Turkey, headed by Islamist Prime Minster Erdogan. The Erdogan government is sponsoring Hamas, inciting extremist fervor and is even harboring the Hamas leader that oversees kidnappings. The #2 donor is Qatar, the same country that backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and owns the international news agency Al Jazeera English. Erdogan has personally arranged the transfer of $250 million annually to Hamas, coordinating financial aid for the terrorist group with Qatar. Yet Turkey remains a member of NATO and a US ally. Qatar is also considered to be a U.S. ally.
