Trump to sign order rolling back health insurance regulations: report
President Trump will sign an executive order next week aimed at rolling back health insurance regulations put in place by former President Obama in an effort to undo his predecessor's signature health-care law, according to The Wall Street Journal. The order will direct the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS), Labor, and Treasury to make it easier for individuals to group together and purchase insurance through "association health plans," according to the report.

The Story that Netflix’s Heroin(e) Fails to Cover
Last night, I watched the new Netflix documentary Heroin(e). This documentary was of special interest to me, as it revolved around the opioid epidemic in Huntington, West Virginia. Huntington happens to be home to my alma mater, Marshall University, as well as my entire immediate family. Huntington also has the highest per capita rate of heroin overdose in the country.

Airborne Radioactive Isotope Suddenly Sweeps Across Europe
An unusual amount of radioactive isotope ruthenium-106 has been detected in the airspace of Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and France, according to multiple European monitors. On October 3, the Austrian Ministry of the Environment released a statement saying small amounts of the isotope had been noticed. The amounts apparently do not pose any risk of consequence to human or environmental health.

Weeks after Turkish forces started to deploy in large numbers along the border with Syria, adjacent to the province of Idlib, Ankara appears to be on the verge of launching yet another significant military operation into the war-torn country. Unlike Operation Euphrates Shield, which targeted lands occupied by the Islamic State, the upcoming operation into Idlib will be directed toward lands occupied by Syrian rebels. As befitting a convoluted conflict such as Syria, Turkey's advance into Idlib will be assisted by other Syrian rebel groups trained over time by Turkey in neighboring Aleppo province. And according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's latest statements, they will be supported by Russian aviation.

Car Slams Into Pedestrians Outside London Natural History Museum, Terrorism Ruled Out
At least seven people were injured after a car mounted the pavement and "deliberately mowed down pedestrians" outside the Natural History Museum in London. The car mounted the pavement before ploughing into two other vehicles, hitting visitors as they made their way to the museum, in one of London’s busiest tourist areas. According to London police, the incident is not being treated as terror-related, with Scotland Yard describing it as a 'road traffic collision. '

Two days ago, Clark County Sheriff Lombardo for the first time expressed his conviction that Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock had to have help at some point during the tragic mass shooting, either in the preparation or the execution stage, or both.
