The Life and End Times of the Apocalypse
If ... you grew up within a sect of evangelicalism during the 90s that espoused the merits of DC Talk’s Jesus Freak and the concept of the youth group lock-in, you’re also likely familiar with the Left Behind book series co-authored by Jerry B. Jenkins and the late Tim LaHaye. ... Both The Leftovers and Left Behind may be mere entertainment, but they nonetheless expertly play into the fears of what a less-populated world would entail.

NBC More Worried by Trump’s ‘Dark Tone’ Than Firebombed GOP
Once again, NBC showed us all that they have a very one-sided set of priorities in their election coverage. On Monday, NBC’s Today devoted a nearly three-minute report to stoking fears that Donald Trump’s supporters could cause violence if the Republican nominee is defeated in November, while only offering a scant 39 seconds of air time to a GOP campaign office in North Carolina being firebombed over the weekend.

Kaine on Anti-Catholic Emails: ‘I Don’t Think You Have to Apologize for Your Opinions’
Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine told ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” on Sunday that he doesn’t think the Clinton campaign should apologize for anti-Catholic e-mails exchanged by members of the campaign, saying he doesn’t think “you have to apologize for your opinions.”

Sorry Bloomberg, We Are Just Getting Started
Liberty is not an idea whose time has come and gone. Libertarians labor under no delusion that they are going to save the world. The world will be saved by regular people, most of whom know nothing of economic theory or libertarian philosophy, as they serve each other in markets and pursue their own self-interest.

The Absurdity of Political Correctness Has Reached New Heights
The bizarre results of PC culture aren't limited to the US. This is a global epidemic. Almost anything you do will offend someone and politicians and judges are more than happy to ruin your life over it.

The FDA’s regulations will destroy a decade of anti-smoking innovation and cripple a 3.5 billion dollar industry. With several studies on the safety of vaping available, it is clear that there is more to these new regulations than just concerns over the nation’s health. Instead, it would appear that, once again, cronyism is being used in order to protect one industry over another. As far as vaping regulations are concerned, the only clear winners are big tobacco and big government.

Libertarians should avoid the mistakes of the ideologues and present a reasoned, scientific approach to libertarianism based on logic, evidence, and facts.

History will judge the loose monetary policies of today’s central banks harshly. Future historians will find that in pursuing a short-term economic growth objective, the world’s central banks set up the stage for the next major global economic and financial crisis.

Moral codes are often ascetic and grim. Manners, on the other hand, usually require us to be at least outwardly cheerful, agreeable, gracious, convivial—in short, a contagious source of cheer to others. They are the mark of a healthy and free society.

The Church's economic stances separated it from the Greeks and Romans, and have had lasting influence advocating the dignity of humanity. The Catholic Church was the one institution in the Middle Ages that was outside of the Feudal Order. The Church may have formed alliances, made political compromises, and sanctioned conduct contrary to the spirit and the letter of the Church’s doctrine, but these were argued to be “expediencies” of the short-run so the Church might serve the long-run purpose for its existence – the salvation of souls before the final Day of Judgment.

Here Are 3 New Cases of Voter Fraud. Governments Must Ensure Vote Integrity as Election Day Looms.
Our voter fraud tracking project has now tallied over 430 criminal convictions for election fraud. The Heritage database is by no means reflective of the true scale of voter fraud in the country. Obtaining convictions for election fraud is no easy task because many states lack the procedural tools needed to detect fraud, either before or after it has occurred. Often these cases are given a low priority by overburdened prosecutors, especially after an election is over. In short, voter fraud often goes undiscovered.

THE GREATEST HERESY OF OUR TIME ISN’T WHAT YOU THINK
Heresies never die. They just take on new forms from time to time. Yesterday’s Arianism becomes today’s Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ye olde Gnosticism gets recycled into the warmed-over Hegelianism that is still taught in many seminaries. It all goes around and around in a circle. Beware whenever someone says, “God is doing a new thing,” because 9 times out of 10 times what that really means is that human beings have put an old and long-broken thing into a shiny new package.

Why They Keep Trade Deals Secret
TTIP is not a free trade agreement – rather, it is yet another example of “managed trade”. Keeping the negotiations secret has certainly cast a pall over the intentions behind the deal and whether it will actually be in the best interests of American and EU citizens. Murray Rothbard was highly critical of trade treaties such as NAFTA. In reality, free trade requires no treaties – as Rothbard pointed out, genuine free trade is a unilateral policy. There is no need to ask anyone's permission to remove one's trade barriers.

Cattle Aren’t Climate Change Criminals
Cattle were painted as climate-change villains. Let's look at why, because it's not right. UC Davis’s Dr. Frank Mitloehner looked at the figures on livestock’s contribution to climate change and saw problems. Here’s what he discovered, and the good things it says about U.S. production methods.

Why Do We Want Legumes in Our Pastures?
Forage legumes are plants that are in the pea family (Fabaceae) and include alfalfa, clovers, vetches and trefoils. We like them because they help take nitrogen out of the atmosphere and fix it in our soils. They are a tool we can use to increase fertility and forage production without the addition of man-made fertilizers.

Stockpiling pastures for winter grazing is a great way to allow legumes to naturally reseed in your pastures. Most of the commonly used legumes such as red, alsike, or strawberry clover and birdsfoot trefoil will produce enough seed for stand rejuvenation with 60-75 days of recovery time.

How We Transitioned to Be A Grain Free Dairy
We here at Butterworks Farm have long been interested in no grain dairy farming. For the past forty years we have been grain growers as well as hay producers. Cereals (oats, wheat and barley) and row crops like corn and soy have fit neatly into our crop rotation with grasses and legumes.
