Sarah Palin’s son-in-law wants Trump to apologize to Khans, but Ben Carson has a better idea
“I think we should clearly move on,” Carson said. “I don’t think it would be harmful if they apologized to him and he apologized to them, but I don’t see that happening.” When pressed by Blitzer to explain why the Khans should apologize to Trump, Carson said because they did not get the facts entirely correct. “If you accuse someone of something that’s not true, usually it is a reasonable thing to acknowledge that,” Carson said, referring to the claim that Trump wants to ban Muslims from the country.

What Does #BlackLivesMatter Want? A New List of Demands Clouds Its Message
The trouble is that these urgent and critical reforms are buried under an avalanche of irrelevant policies, vague platitudes, and demands for free stuff — lots of free stuff. The demands read like recycled Bernie Sanders campaign literature, hitting everything from climate change to bank regulation — but barely touching policing.

Farewell to the VHS Tape and Other Old Technologies
This month, the last VHS tape will be made. The only company that still creates them is ceasing production due to a lack of demand. I can still remember the whirring sound they make as they rewind from my childhood. A child today would likely be baffled by the sight of a VHS tape.  The Telegraph has put together an amusing slideshow of old technologies, including the VHS tape, that most of today’s youth have never seen or used. Whether it takes you on a stroll down memory lane or you’re too young to remember any of the items featured, it’s worth a look.  The fading of an old technology can provoke nostalgia, just as the entrance of a new technology may incite unnecessary fear or hysteria. But it’s hard to argue that the constant upending of older technologies by newer ones doesn’t ultimately enrich humanity. In many ways, an average American today is richer than John D. Rockefeller was in 1916.

They came in the holds of overcrowded ships, packed in among cargo and animals, and those who survived the journey were bought and sold in chains to work as hard their owners chose. They were taken to the Carribean, to the American colonies, and beyond.  Sound familiar? But these forced immigrants, deprived of all personal freedom, were Irish slaves, and their servitude started long before black slavery was common.
