GE Said to Drop Dallas as Relocation Site Over Ex-Im Fight
General Electric Co. dropped the Dallas area as a site for a possible headquarters move because of concern that Texas’s political climate is unfavorable to the company’s business. GE told Dallas business leaders in recent days it would look elsewhere for alternatives to its Connecticut home, said people familiar with the matter. They asked not to be identified because details aren’t public. They said GE cited some Texas lawmakers’ opposition to the U.S. Export-Import Bank, an important source of financing for some overseas sales.

A Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy was shot execution style at a gas station while reportedly in full uniform. The deputy was filling up his patrol car. Witnesses told Breitbart Texas the shooter shot the deputy in the back of the head and then three times in the back. This tragedy comes within days of a group of Black radicals calling for “lynching whites and killing cops,” as Breitbart Texas recently reported. Witnesses also told Breitbart Texas that the shooter was a black male.

Flags ordered to half-staff for firefighters’ services
Saying Gov. Jay Inslee was “deeply saddened” by the deaths of three firefighters in the Methow Valley Aug. 19, his office announced the lowering of all Washington and United States flags over state facilities. The lowering to half staff was directed for Sunday, the day Richard Wheeler, 31, Andrew Zajac, 26, and Tom Zbyszewski, 20, are to be remembered in a Wenatchee memorial service. However, the governor’s office said in a press release there is “no objection to agencies lowering the flags at the close of business on Friday.”

High winds expected across region on Saturday
Firefighters battling wildfires in North Central Washington are bracing for high winds on Saturday that are expected to be slightly higher than those that fanned flames into a frenzy on Aug. 14.
