OBAMACARE RAISING PREMIUMS, HURTING MIDDLE, LOWER CLASS
"Constituents call my office and ask why their current health insurance is either being canceled or why the rates are rising so dramatically. There are a number of reasons that tie back to Obamacare, and some are mentioned in the article below. But here's a quick summary. 1. "Free" preventative services. Most of you currently have a co-pay for your immunizations, or for screenings like a cholesterol test or a diabetes test. Obamacare mandates that those preventative services and many others be "free," with no co-pay. Of course, somebody is still paying for them. 2. The Obamacare death spiral. That sounds harsh but it's simply this: Older and sicker individuals will be more likely to sign up for Obamacare. Without millions of healthy young individuals signing up and paying high premiums, health insurers will face a growing cost that gets passed along to all customers. 3. A $60 billion Obamacare tax on the health industry starts in January, and for those companies to stay in business, they will pass the cost along." ~ U.S. REP. JOHN FLEMING
