Christianity ‘Under Attack’ in Eastern Kenya
Tensions between Muslims and Christians along Kenya's coast have have historically remained hidden beneath the surface of the region's mixed culture, with antagonism only surfacing at infrequent intervals. However recent events have reignited these tensions after a radical Imam with suspected al-Shabaab ties was found dead two weeks ago. Since then, a Christian church has been burned and two pastors assassinated. Despite the historical precedent for cyclic retribution between the two major religious groups, some say that the situation now is different from past feuding. A group of Christian leaders suggests that the growing popularity of evangelical Christianity in the Muslim-majority has triggered an effort by Islamists to intimidate Christians and suppress religious freedom.

Reporter in Pakistan Receives Death Threat for Writing about Christian Persecution
Rana Tanveer, a reporter based in Lahore, Pakistan, has been receiving death threats for writing about the suffering of Christians and other religious minorities in Pakistan. Earlier this month, Tanveer received a letter that told him that he was not apostate because he was writing in favor of Christians and other religious minorities. Later, he received a phone call at his home in which someone told him that he could be killed if he continued to write about the plight of Pakistan's religious minorities. This is not a new development in Pakistan. Considered one of the most religiously intolerant places in the world, reporters are forced to risk being killed by extremist for reporting on the plight of Christians, Hindus, Ahmadis and other religious minorities.
