Tony Blair apologizes for Iraq War ‘mistakes’
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq was partly responsible for the emergence of the Islamic State militant group in the Middle East. But he insisted that toppling dictator Saddam Hussein had been the right thing to do. “Of course you can’t say those of us who removed Saddam in 2003 bear no responsibility for the situation in 2015,” he said in the interview to be broadcast Sunday. He added that the Arab Spring had also played a role in creating instability that allowed the Islamic fundamentalist militant group to flourish.

Muslim Family Hangs Israeli Flag in Surfside Store to Make Statement
South Florida's Jewish community is keeping a close eye on all the latest developments in Israel. In the heart of one of the most heavily populated Jewish neighborhoods, there's an unlikely show of support from one business. You could say the Muslim family from Turkey running the tailor shop in Surfside is threading the needle. Threading it between cultures, religions and nations. They've hung an Israeli flag in their store window to make a statement. "Actually, the Muslim people want peace and unfortunately, the only country in the Middle East that wants peace is Israel and that's why I want to support them," Duran Agba said.

American killed as U.S., Iraqi commandos free dozens of ISIL hostages
A U.S. servicemember died after a commando raid Thursday freed about 70 hostages believed to face imminent execution by Islamic State fighters in northern Iraq, the Pentagon said. The soldier's death marked the first American combat death in Iraq in four years and raises the issue of deepening U.S. involvement on the ground there, something President Obama and the Pentagon have routinely ruled out.

Dick Morris: GOP Now Has 'Smoking Gun' From Hillary on Benghazi
Hillary Clinton's testimony Thursday before the special House Benghazi committee gave Republicans "a smoking gun," political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax TV. Questions from Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio "pointed to three pieces of evidence that showed clearly, indubitably, indisputably that Hillary Clinton knew this was a pre-meditated, pre-planned terrorist attack and specifically not a spontaneous reaction to a video that had gone awry as both she and [President Barack] Obama were claiming in public," Morris said.

How free markets make us fatter, poorer and less happy
Just as free markets can serve the public good “by an invisible hand” (as Adam Smith saw more than two centuries ago and is the foundation of the field of economics), free markets will do something else. As long as there is a profit to be made, they will also deceive us, manipulate us and prey on our weaknesses, tempting us into purchases that are bad for us. That is also a fundamental feature of market equilibrium, in which supply and demand balance each other out.

Talk about a couple of big-money guys with big plans. Republican pace-setter Donald Trump drops this fellow billionaire’s name almost as much as he mentions China. Nationwide Anti-Poverty, Anti-TTIP Rallies Take Place in Spain
Nationwide protests against poverty and the US-EU Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) free trade deal were held on Saturday in more than 50 Spanish cities, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported. About 1,300 different rights groups and trade unions supported the demonstration, including the Campaign against TTIP, the Spanish Alliance against Poverty, the General Union of Workers (UGT) and the Workers' Commissions (CCOO).

About 20,000 health care professionals took to the streets of London on Saturday to express their opposition to the planned changes in the working conditions, the employees’ trade union said. Similar rallies took place in the cities of Belfast and Nottingham earlier in the day, with another one planned in Dundee, Scotland's fourth largest city, on Sunday.

The failure of the president to respond more “assertively” to what some see as a challenge to his leadership in the Middle East signals weakness and indecision on the world stage, Politico quoted some US officials as saying.

A Saudi-led coalition airstrike "mistakenly" hit allied positions in southern Yemen on Saturday, killing around 30 pro-government fighters, Ahram Online reports, citing medics and witnesses.

Some of the US’s major allies appear more and more convinced that Barack Obama is losing his political influence on the Syrian conflict and the fight against the self-proclaimed Islamic State terror group, according to an analysis in the US media.

The Syrian conflict is not an isolated crisis but a part of the US' bigger plan aimed at Iran and beyond, Toni Cartalucci explains, pointing out that it is the Fortune 500 companies, centered on Wall Street and London, which are dragging the MENA region into chaos.
