Venezuela’s Maduro Feasts on Steak, Smokes Cigars at Salt Bae Restaurant
On his way back home from a trip to Asia, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro stopped off in Turkey to dine at one of butcher sensation Nusret Gökçe’s Nusr-Et restaurants where he sampled steaks and smoked cigars from a personalized box. Maduro visited Nusr-Et, known for its $100 rib-eye, after making an official trip to China in hopes of securing financing for cash-strapped Venezuela. In videos posted by Nusret to Twitter and Instagram, Maduro is seen eating steak next to his wife, Cilia Flores, while also holding a cigar and trying on a t-shirt depicting Nusret, also known as Salt Bae and famous for how he prepares and seasons steaks.

New China Tariffs Coming Soon
Less than a week after signing a bill to reduce some tariffs, the administration is moving to raise others. As soon as today, the Trump administration is expected to announce ten percent tariffs on about $200 billion of Chinese goods. They could take effect in as soon as a few weeks, in time for the holiday shopping season. The administration is also reserving the right to adjust the rate upwards to 25 percent in the future. They did not specific the likelihood, criteria, or timetable for such an increase, which is upsetting to longterm investors.

Landlords are terrified Democrats could take control over New York
Victories by the progressive left in last week’s Democratic Party primaries have left the real estate industry reeling, with fears that landlords and developers could lose out if Democrats take complete control of the state government in November. Republicans, who now maintain a narrow majority in the Senate — and until recently with support from a rogue group of Democrats aligned with the GOP — have been a “firewall” blocking pro-tenant legislation that would eliminate or scrap the ability of landlords to boost rents, a knowledgeable source in the real estate industry said.

Russia Probe Could be ‘Literally Nothing,’ Ex-FBI Lawyer Lisa Page Says
“It still existed in the scope of possibility that there might be literally nothing” connecting the Russian government and the Trump campaign, former FBI counsel Lisa Page told lawmakers in closed-door testimony over the summer. Page was a member of the FBI team that initiated the investigation into allegations of collusion between Donald Trump's presidential campaign team and Russia in July 2016. She gained notoriety when texts she exchanged with Peter Strzok, former FBI head of counterintelligence, disparaging then-candidate Trump and discussing how he could be kept from power, came to light.

Egyptian Archaeologists Discover Ancient Sphinx from Ptolemaic Dynasty (PHOTO)
Archaeologists draining groundwater from a temple in the southern city of Aswan in Egypt recently discovered a sandstone sphinx. On Sunday, Egypt's Antiquities Ministry said that the statue of the mythical creature with a human head and a lion's body was uncovered in the Temple of Kom Ombo. The statue most likely dates back to the Ptolemaic era. The Ptolemaic dynasty was a Macedonian Greek royal family that ruled the Ptolemaic Kingdom in Egypt from 305 to 30 BC.
